Monroe PD Reports: Shots fired, assault, domestic disputes and juvenile complaints

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between April 21 – 27, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an  arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Shots Fired on Etten Ct; Complainant advised that someone in a red passenger car started shooting a gun 2-4 times and then drove off.  Two 9mm shell casings recovered from the scene, suspicious when complainant was not very forthcoming.
  • 911 Hang-up on E. Church Street; large group of juveniles taunting the complainant to come out and fight, subjects left towards Hammond Drive.
  • Suspicious activity, Claywill Cir; Comp advised seeing flashlights possibly in the vacant residence across the street.  Three juveniles were sitting on a power box near the residence, they were checked out, given a ride home.  Residence was checked and still secured, not being entered.
  • Harassing Phone Calls Knight Street: Female stated that she was receiving harassing calls and texts from her family, advised of some remedies.
  • Firearms Discharged Cedar Lane; heard three shots in the area of Woodacres. Negative contact.
  • Dispute at Waffle House Hwy 78; Black male threw a glass bottle at another subject, manager wanted four people banned. Report taken.
  • Dispute, W. Spring Street, Huddle House; multiple subjects on location being disrespectful to staff, multiple people requested leave upon request of employees.
  • Stolen Vehicle: Complainant advised that a female he didn’t know took his vehicle and did not bring it back for two hours, female was contacted and the vehicle was returned at Dairy Queen, no charges filed.
  • Assault, Jack Peters grocery, Suspect assaulted the complainant on Davis Street; negative contact, report made.
  • Domestic problem, Popeye’s; Grandson advised that his grandfather came from Atlanta and checked into the room next to him.  Subject advised to avoid contact with the complainant.
  • Dispute, Hot Spot at E. Marable St.; Tenant having issues with his landlord touching his things, report requested.
  • Damage to Property at Walton County Sheriff’s Office; Complainant advised that his 2010 Jaguar took damage from a pothole on Atha Street where work is being done.  Report made.
  • Domestic problem, East Marable St. and N. Broad St; Male advised his girlfriend went crazy in his car and started hitting her head on the doorframe. Fight broke out over accusations of cheating, inconsistent stories, report taken.
  • Disturbing the peace Green Street x 3; complaining about someone working on their car in area.
  • Domestic, Old Mill Pointe, disputing over baby daddy drama – situation mediated.
  • Dispute report taken at South Broad Street (Monroe Police Department) Tenant having issues with his landlord and had questions.  Referred to magistrate court for Civil Issues.
  • Domestic on Hampton Dr. in reference to female having friend over against her probation.  Contacted Juvenile Intake and was told to have them contact the probation officer in the morning.
  • Juvenile Complaint Towler Street and airport.  Juveniles trying to climb on the fence at the airport.  Sent juveniles home and told them they cannot ride their bikes inside the airport.
  • Traffic Stop at   North Madison, Passenger Dykim Smith arrested for false name and DOB also had an active probation warrant out of Social Circle.  Driver was released on scene with a warning citation for a broken brake light.
  • Dispute at East Marable Street and Turner Street.  Arguing in the road way.   All parties were gone when police arrived.
  • Dispute at West 5th Street.  Son refusing to leave property.  His mother advised he’s on drugs and has already moved out.  Subject gone upon police arrival.
  • Harassment report taken at South Broad Street (Monroe Police Department) Contact made with Complainant who advised her ex-boyfriend is harassing her in church.  Incidents occurring in Barrow County – not Monroe.  Referred to Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Dispute on Harris Street. Females involved in a verbal altercation. Female stated another female pulled a gun on her. Multiple witnesses on scene never saw a gun and stated one of the females were extremely intoxicated and initiated the entire incident.  Situation mediated.
  • EMS Assist at West Marable St., In reference to a woman calling needing EMS. She had MS and was hard to understand by Walton County Communications.  Scene turned over to EMS
  • Dispute, Booth Drive reference a dispute over not picking up the phone.  Female decided to move out.  All ok
