The Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts is now accepting registrations for its 2026 Summer Art Camps, offering a variety of creative opportunities for young artists throughout the summer.

The camps are designed to give children a hands-on, encouraging environment where they can explore different forms of art while building skills and confidence. Organizers say campers will have the opportunity to experiment, create, and learn from experienced local artists.

This year’s lineup includes five weeks of Mixed Media camps and three weeks of Pottery camps. The mixed media sessions will allow children to work with painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and other creative techniques, while pottery camps will focus on hand-building and glazing instruction led by pottery instructors LydiaKay and Rebecca G.

An all-day art camp will also be offered June 15–19, combining mixed media classes in the morning with pottery in the afternoon.

Mixed Media camps are open to children ages 5–12, while pottery camps are available for ages 8 and older.

Camp fees are $185 per week for members and $195 for non-members, with all supplies included. Campers will also create their own tie-dyed T-shirt as a keepsake.

Registration deadlines are one week prior to each camp session, and officials noted that enrollment is not complete until payment is received. Due to limited class sizes, some camps are expected to fill quickly.
