The Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts is looking for submissions for its Summer Members Show. The following is the submission guidelines and registration form for the Summer Members Show that runs July 1 – August 23. The drop off dates and registration deadline is June 22 and 23. ELIGIBILITY

Open to all current members of MWCA.

Not a member? Not a problem. Sign up today, and be part of the exhibit.  Membership forms are available in the Gallery or on-line where you can also learn more about the benefits of membership.

DATES TO REMEMBER

SHOW DATES:  July 1 – August 23
Drop Off:    Thursday & Friday, June 22-23 from 11 am – 6 pm
Pickup:       Thursday & Friday, August 24-25 from 11 am – 6 pm
Opening Reception & Awards:    Thursday, July 6 from 6 – 8 pm

FEES (for up to three entries)
Adult:      $30 by 6/17; $35 – 6/18 through drop off days
Youth (up to age 17):     $5 per entry. Please list child’s age on form.

AWARDS: Categories: 2-D, Sculpture, Pottery, Photography, Youth – first and runner up in each.  Also Best in Show.

APPROVAL BY COMMITTEE: The MWCA committee reserves the right to reject any artwork due to size and weight limitations or inappropriateness.

SECURITY: Reasonable security is provided for the duration of the exhibition. Care will be taken in the handling, hanging and displaying of the work. However, MWCA will not be held responsible or liable for the loss or damage of any art.

Artwork left longer than 30 days after the closing of the show will become the property of MWCA.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS  We reserve the right to refuse any work not meeting these specifications.  Art must hang for the duration of the show.  All artwork must be delivered ready to be hung.

  • No copies or prints of originals.  All work must be original.
  • Work not previously shown at MWCA,
  • All flat work must have a wire on the back. (No saw tooth hangers).
  • Work that is not secured into the frame will not be hung.
  • If you choose to enter work on a non-framed canvas, paint must be on the edges.
  • All paint must be dry.
  • Charcoal & pastels must be fixed.
  • Sculpture must be sturdy and able to stand on its own.
  • One tab (found below) MUST be copied and attached to the back of each piece of artwork.
  • MWCA takes a 30% commission on all sales, so please price accordingly.
  • Work does not have to be for sale but, we prefer that it be.
  • Member Artists must be current or renewing at the time of submission.

Artists are asked to do the following to help promote the show!

  • Promote this show via your own social media, email lists etc. Talk it up to your friends and family!
  • Email a brief bio about yourself and a statement about your works to hope@monroeartguild.org.
  • Share MWCA’s Facebook posts to your own business and personal pages and other groups you may be a part of.
  • Invite your friends and family to visit anytime we are open and especially to the reception.
