MPD Reports: Drone hovering under porch looking into the residence; person responding to retrieve vehicle because driver’s license was suspended was also on a suspended license

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 9 – 15, 2026,. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Accident – E Marable St. & N Midland – Single-vehicle crash in which a Honda Accord drove off the roadway, striking a metal stake. The driver left on foot prior to Officer arrival. Vehicle removed by Taylor’s Wrecker Service.
• Wanted Person – Birch Street – Named subject taken into custody for an active warrant. Transported to the Walton County Jail without incident.
• Illegal Dumping – Forest St – In reference to the complainant stating that an unknown individual is illegally dumping trash on Forest St. No witnesses or cameras observed. Extra patrol requested.
• Theft Report – Piedmont Pkwy- Complaint reporting 15K of fraudulent card usage from 12/8/25 until now by the plant manager.
• Suspicious Person – N Broad St. – In reference to subject on location. Subject was spoken with and sent on his way.
• Stolen Vehicle – Victory Dr – In reference to the Complainant’s deceased father’s vehicles no longer at the residence. It was determined the vehicles were sold illegally. Warrants to be taken.
• Loud Music – Landers St. – In reference to loud music in the area. Call cleared, area patrolled with negative contact.
• Other Law – Clubview Ct – In reference to a drone hovering under the back porch looking into the residence. Complainant requested a report be made for documentation purposes.
• Drugs – Victory Dr- Complainant located glass pipe inside his deceased father’s residence
• Suspicious Person – S Broad St. – Reference to subject possibly threw a brick through a screen door. Contact made, all ok.
• Traffic Stop – N Broad St. & Mayfield Dr. – Traffic stop conducted for no tag displayed. The driver was placed under arrest for a Failure to Appear warrant out of Snellville. The passenger also had a suspended license and called for someone to retrieve her and the vehicle. Another subject arrived to do so, and was found to have a suspended license for Failure to Appear. The first subject was transported to the Walton County Jail without incident. The second was fingerprinted and released on a copy of the. A licensed driver arrived and retrieved the first subject vehicle. The second subject’s vehicle remained on location to be retrieved at a later time.
• Child Custody – Knight St, A complainant requests Ofc while dropping Juvenile off due to court order. Complainant was gone when officers arrived, all was 10-4.
• Harassment – Aycock Ave – Reference to male subject speaking to juvenile in courtyard. All parties spoken to. Remedies advised
• Suspicious Vehicle – E Spring / Blaine St – In reference to a silver sedan with its passenger side door open and a white male yelling for help. The vehicle was last seen getting onto Hwy 78 Eb. The vehicle was unable to be located.
• Unknown Law – Lacy St – In reference to a Verbal dispute between two subjects in reference to getting one a ride back to Winder. All okay.
• Dispute – Overlook Trl – In reference to complainant advising his son wouldn’t listen to him and was getting in his face after being confronted. Complainant was advised of the eviction process.
• Suspicious person – W Spring St; Harry’s Marathon – In reference to Manager asking subject to be removed from the property. Subject was given a courtesy ride to Piedmont Walton.
• Suspicious Person – E Marable St; The Hot Spot – Complainant stated male stumbling in the roadway walking towards Broad St. Area check conducted but the male was gone when officers arrived.
• Suspicious person – N Broad St – Reference another complainant stating male was walking near Church’s Chicken. I was able to locate the male on Green St. He appeared intoxicated and stated he was almost home. I stayed with him till he arrived home two houses down from first contact. Advised to stay home.
• EMS Assist – Lacy St – In reference to subject from previous call walking in the roadway needing medical attention due to bleeding from the foot. Turned over to EMS.
• Residential Alarm – Ash Ln – Home owner on location all okay.
• Dispute – N Midland Ave; Monroe Pizzeria & Tavern – In reference to complainant stating he was hit twice in the face by an unknown male that was gone when officer arrived. All units arrived and met with the complainant who was intoxicated. The complainant was removed from the business due to his behavior and no one witnessed him getting hit. There were no marks on his face and no other evidence to validate his description of events. The manager requested a criminal trespass warning which was issued. The male was given a courtesy ride to his home due to his high level of intoxication. Report completed.
• Civil issue – GW Carver Dr – Complainant unable to get inside a residence that she subleases, no contact was made inside the residence. Complainant was advised of civil remedies.
• 911 Hang-Up – Breedlove Dr – All okay on location.
• Suspicious Person – 1400 Hwy 78 – In reference to subject on location requesting help in reference to having a self-inflicted injury and withdrawing from illegal narcotics.
• Alarm – Hill St – All doors and windows at the location are secure. Alarm – Hwy 138 – Contact made with employees on location, all ok.
• Business Alarm – W Spring ST / PeachTree Imm. Care – In reference to Peachtree Immediate Care’s alarm activation. Contact was made with subject, a maintenance worker. As I made contact, subject was finishing up her duty and locking the business up. All OK.
• Business Alarm – HWY 138 / Chick-fil-a – In reference to the safe door hold-up alarm activation. Contact made with employees; all is okay.
• Building Check – W Spring St / PeachTree Imm. Care- In reference to an employee wanting the building cleared, since the motion lights were activated. Building cleared, all OK.
• Other Law – Victory Dr- Complainant on location to retrieve his deceased father’s property. Complainant believed that other subjects who are involved in a criminal matter might be on location. Complainant did gain access into the residence, no one was on location.
• Warrant Attempt – Pannell Road – Subject taken into custody on active warrants out of Walton and Gwinnett County.
• 10-90 – N Broad St / Britt’s Home Furnishing – Contact made with employees, false alarm. All OK.
• Dispute – G W Carver Dr. – In reference to the complainant stating she was wrongfully kicked out of her dwelling. Due to conflicting stories between the complainant and the tenant, remedies were advised. Complainant was then given a courtesy ride to a temporary dwelling.
• Other Law – N Broad ST / Scoops – In reference to juveniles wearing ski masks in the store acting suspiciously. Remedies were advised to the owner and manager.
• Warrant Attempt – Hillside Drive – Named male subject was taken into custody due to having multiple warrants out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
• Theft – S Broad St reference to card fraud, report taken.
• Other Law – Meadows Farm Way- Reference to Complainant’s parents sending packages for the complainant’s daughter. Advised to seek legal advice, on what is needed to stop the packages Remedies advised.
• Dispute – Davis St – Two subjects having a verbal argument while intoxicated. No evidence of any criminal acts observed. Parties separated and the situation was mediated.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 and Hwy 11 – Male subject was arrested and charged for possession of schedule II, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a knife during a crime, and possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop for reckless driving.
• Assault – 140 Blaine Street – In reference to a dispute/assault that took place at Blasingame Lake. Complainant did not wish to press charges just to have it documented.
• Suspicious Person – W Spring St / Walmart – In reference to a male and a 12-year- old panhandling. Negative contact.
• Suspicious Vehicle – W Washington; Wayne St – In reference to a black GMC possibly DUI. Area checked with negative contact.
• Vehicle Lockout – W. Spring St; Home Depot – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Warrant Service – Victory Dr – In reference to receiving a tip that a named female subject who had active warrants was possibly on location. While on scene Officers observed an unsecure rear door and cleared the residence. While clearing the residence the wanted subject was located hiding inside a bedroom. Another named subject was also located hiding inside the residence and was detained. While being escorted outside the house the initial subject attempted to throw a Crystal pipe to prevent it from being seen. While conducting a search of her, a yellow bag was located inside her front right pocket containing a white crystal like substance. She was transported to the Monroe Police Department where she was fingerprinted and then turned over to Jail staff without issue.
• Hit and Run – Hwy 138 / Michael Etchison Rd – In reference to a dark color passenger vehicle rear ending the complainant. Report taken.
• Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St; three subjects on location behind a closed business, they were advised of various laws and sent on their way.
• Alarm – W Spring St; Captain D’s – Area checked, all okay on location.
• Alarm – Mayfield Dr; AAA Trucks- In reference to an exterior door activation, an open door was located. The building was cleared without any contact, the door was secured.
• Suspicious Person – N Broad St; N Monroe Food Mart – In reference to observing a male subject in a black hoodie run from the business, then run back to the front door. Contact was made with the clerk on location who advised all was ok.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Pilot Park / Highschool Ave – In reference to a KIA Carnival parked on location after park hours. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied; an attempt to contact the owner was made, with negative contact. All appeared ok.
• Suspicious Person – Harris St / E Church St – In reference to a subject walking in a residential area, and upon observing a marked patrol unit, turned to walk the other way. Contact was made, and all was determined to be ok.
• Vehicle Collision – Tall Oaks W – Two vehicle accident in the roadway with no reports of injuries and minor damage to both vehicles. Parties began disputing while officers were enroute and were separated. All okay.
• Traffic Stop/DUI Arrest – S Broad St / John’s Supermarket – In reference to a named subject being stopped for running a red light, at S Broad St and Alcovy St. He was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He consented to breath and was transported to Monroe Police Department. He was placed under arrest, booked and transported to Walton County Jail where he was turned over to staff without incident.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Highway 138 at City Limits – In reference to a car FTML. No contact with vehicle.
• Area Check – W Spring St/Pinnacle Bank – In reference to a concerned citizen who observed the bank lights flashing, the business alarm had been activated, and doors and windows all appeared ok.
• Business Alarm – Mayfield Dr – In reference to the shop’s side door alarm activation. Employee accidentally activated the alarm, business cleared, all ok.
• Traffic Stop – E Marable St & N Midland Ave – Traffic stop conducted for no seat belt. Driver was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended, fingerprinted, and released on a copy of the citatioon. His vehicle was retrieved by a licensed driver.
• Traffic stop – Green St & GW Carver – In reference to a traffic stop initiated on a named subject for failure to stop at a stop sign. A Spillman inquiry revealed her driver’s license was suspended for a previous DUI. She was arrested without incident, taken to the MPD, fingerprinted, and released on a citation.
• Alarm – Cherry Hill Rd. – Warehouse motion alarm. An unsecured door was located and the building was cleared. All appeared okay.
• Fraud – W Spring St; Burger King – In reference to the complainant calling due to a Burger King employee fraudulently using a gift card she had used to pay for food. Report taken.
• Traffic Stop – Davis St / S Lumpkin – In reference to stopping subject in a Volvo S60 for suspended tag and no insurance. Insurance was not able to be verified on scene. Vehicle was turned over to Taylor’s Wrecker Service.
