The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 21 – 28, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Dispute – East Church St. Exceptional Community Services in reference to a named subject on location. He has been criminally trespassed from the location since 12/11/2020. He was gone on officer arrival.
Dispute – Heritage Trace: In reference to subject having issues with his care givers. Subject was told that it was a civil issue. The situation was mediated.
Theft report – Bold Springs Rd., All Star. Ref to tools and a credit card taken from a truck, possible suspect name given. Incidents happened in the county jurisdiction.
Hit and run – West Spring St., Quality Foods. In reference to a Honda CRV striking another vehicle and leaving. Report made.
Dispute – East Church St., Chevron. A subject was arrested for felony battery from an incident that occurred that morning on Maple. Warrants taken.
Juvenile complaint – South Broad St., Southside MHP, juveniles taking things from the complainant’s yard. Juveniles were identified. Both turned over to parents. Report declined.
Stolen vehicle – Maple St. Previous call the second party called to advised prior complainant took vehicle without permission. Vehicle was not stolen, female arrested.
Prisoner transport – Alcovy St., State Probation. Subject transported for State Probation, all ok.
Dispute – Davis St. Subject arguing with her brother. All ok.
Road rage – West Spring St., and HW138. Comp said a black car attempted to run him off the road. Area searched with negative contact.
Suicide Threats – S Broad St. In reference to a 53-year-old female with some difficulty breathing and wanting to commit suicide. Subject was on location emotionally distraught and stated she wanted to get help. Turned over to EMS.
Suspicious Vehicle – S Madison Ave. Felker Park. Driver had a learner’s permit. Officer stood by and waited for a parent to pick them up. All ok.
Welfare Check – Baron Dr. Complainant wanting officers to make entry to their mother’s residence due to a medical issue. MFD was able to make entry into the residence. Subject was then transported to Piedmont-Walton Hospital by EMS.
Suspicious Person – US 78. Walton Truck Stop. In reference to a homeless black male on location asking for money. Subject was given a ride home.
Fight – E Spring St. Monroe Motor Inn. Complainant advising about a group of people in the parking lot fighting. Two subjects were involved in a domestic dispute. During the dispute, the male broke a phone that belonged to the female. He was taken into custody for criminal trespass family violence.
Entering Auto – White Oak Drive An unlocked 2016 Kia Sorento entered sometime during the night. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Report taken.
Suspicious Vehicle -Richard Parsons Drive in reference to a Jeep Cherokee parked on the road that is unoccupied. Upon Officers arrival, two people were in the back sleep sleeping. Both subjects were criminal trespassed from the property they were on and cited for possession of marijuana less an ounce.
