MPD Reports: Foot patrols downtown by officers continue; Man in corvette reported to be catcalling females

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 24 – 30, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• 9-11 Hang-up – Maple St – Reference damage caused to brick retaining wall. Report made.
• Alarm – River Rock Ct. – Alarm accidentally triggered by homeowner. All okay.
• Vehicle Unlock – S Broad St – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St; Planet Smoothie – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Accident – W Spring St; Quality Foods- Tow vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report.
• Theft Report – Glen Iris – Reference report of missing pocket book, the complainant did not request a report nor wanted to prosecute.
• Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St; Walmart – Vehicle unlocked no damage
• Dispute – Michael Cir – In reference to a delivery driver needing to re-scan a delivered package to show proof of delivery. She was allowed to do so and sent on her way.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78/Unisia – Female subject arrested and released on a copy of the citation for driving while license suspended following a traffic stop.
• Downtown Patrol: 1000-331, 1400-370,334, 1600-325
• Wanted Person – Hwy 78 Waffle House – Male subject observed on location with active warrants out of ACC Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody and turned over to ACCSO without incident.
• Damage to Property – Pannell Rd- In reference to a vehicle backing out of a driveway and getting struck in the culvert. Vehicle removed by Taylor’s Wrecker Service.
• Welfare Check – Breedlove Dr.; Ridgeview – In reference to complainant unable to reach her mother by phone. Ridgeview advised they were having issues transferring calls from the front desk. I was allowed to see and speak with complainant’s mother and confirmed that she was physically well.
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
• EMS Assist – E Washington St – Male having difficulty breathing, Turned over to EMS.
• 911 Open line – W Spring St; Subway – In reference to a 911 open line with static. All okay.
• Area Check – Downtown on foot- All okay.
• Vehicle Unlock – Great Oaks Dr; Cocina Fuentes – Vehicle was unable to be unlocked. The complainant was advised to contact a locksmith.
• Other law – W Fambrough St – In reference to packages being delivered to this location, with residents not ordering anything. Then, another driver arrives on location to get the package and deliver it to the proper recipient. Report taken given the suspicious activity. All okay.
• Suspicious Person – W Church St / S Wayne St – In reference to a named subject who left his job at Wendy’s because his girlfriend was not there to pick him up, and he left to go home on H.D Atha but got lost and waved me down. The girlfriend was called and was able to come pick him up without issues. All okay.
• Dispute – Chestnut Ln – Complainant advised someone at the location was being struck by a male who had active warrants. MPD units made contact with the male, who was taken into custody without incident. The warrants were confirmed, and the male was transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office, where he was released to deputies. The female at the location stated there was no one being assaulted and unfamiliar with anyone calling 911.
• Prowler – Springer Ln – Complainant stated two homeless people she is familiar with were on her front porch. I arrived and located individuals that stay in apartment A on their own front porch. All parties ok.
• Foot patrols conducted, downtown on foot at 1800 & 2000 hours.
• Foot Patrol – Downtown- All ok.
• Vehicle Crash – Citi Trends- Two vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report
• Disabled Vehicle – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to a Honda odyssey in the roadway blocking traffic, Area checked with negative contact.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 and Hwy 11 – Male subject arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following a traffic stop. Transported to Walton County Jail without incident.
• Other Law – Greenwood Dr – In reference to complainant reporting coming home and finding his front door cracked open with a key inside the dead bolt. Complainant requested the residence be cleared. Residence was cleared without any signs of disturbance. All okay.
• Other Law – N Broad St; Wow Express – In reference to complainant wishing to report a verbal dispute with an unknown black male in an Audi regarding him washing his vehicle in the bay. Male was gone when officers arrived and complainant did not want a full report. All okay.
• Suspicious Person – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to a male in a Corvette cat calling females in the parking lot possibly intoxicated. Vehicle was gone when officers arrived, information was passed on to WCSO.
• Other Law – Ford St – Reference text message dispute with employer over pay issues. Remedies advised.
• Juvenile Complaint – W Spring at Breedlove – Juveniles on location fundraising for a football team. All ok.
• Downtown Patrol: 1000-324, 1200-325, 1400-368, 1600-325
• 911 Hangup – Carver Pl – In reference to complainant calling 911 and hanging up. Upon arrival it was discovered she was attempting to call an ambulance for her grandmother.
• Suspicious Person – Alcovy Street Legion: Subject on location sleeping under the pavilion. Subject was advised to leave the property.
• Civil Dispute – Turner St – In reference to a Verbal dispute between two subjects regarding an ex-boyfriend. Parties separated.
• Vehicle Crash – East Marable Street- Two vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report.
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
• Traffic Stop – S Broad St; CVS Pharmacy – In reference to a vehicle stopped for third brake light being out and passenger not wearing seatbelt. The vehicle GCIC return showed no valid registration or insurance. The vehicle was towed by Taylor’s and the driver was issued a citation for no insurance.
