MPD Reports: Hole drilled in vehicle gas tank; move problems with juveniles

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 15– 23 2026,. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Vehicle unlock – Heritage Ridge Dr – Vehicle unlocked prior to arrival.
  • Business Alarm – West Spring St. – In reference to the glass break sensor. All windows and doors were secure.
  • 911 Hang-up – N. Broad St: City Hall – In reference to a 911 hang up on location. Contact was made with staff who advised all was ok.
  • Theft Report – HWY 138; Chick-Fil-A. In reference to a theft that occurred last date. The location of the alleged crime occurred outside of the city limits of Monroe. Turned over to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Vehicle Unlock – Gliding Lane – Vehicle unlocked without damage.
  • Trespassing – Ash St. – In reference to subject attempting to make contact with complainant on location. It was determined that subject had gone to the wrong residence. Subject was issued a notice of prohibited entry for the listed address and was sent on his way. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – South Broad St / Dollar General – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. Driver was arrested for warrants out of Walton County and Athens-Clarke County. Transported to WCSO Jail without incident.
  • Suspicious Person/Arrest – E 5th Street / Railroad Tracks – Officers observed a white male walking behind a residence in the area while concealing his face. Contact was made, and the male was identified and taken into custody on an active probation violation warrant, original charge: family violence aggravated assault out of Haralson County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the Walton County Jail without incident. Report taken.
  • Stolen Trailer – Victory Drive – In reference to a trailer that was taken sometime Tuesday or Wednesday from the backyard. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – MPD- Complainant reported someone drilled a hole in her gas tank, possibly her ex-husband.
  • Suspicious Person – N Broad St – In reference to the store clerk reporting a male entered the store and became angry due to a disagreement over the slot machine payouts. Report taken.
  • Vehicle Unlock – Kendall Ct – Vehicle Unlocked. No damage.
  • Damage to Property – Plaza Trace – A glass bottle was thrown at the complainant’s window. There were no visible signs of damage.
  • Extra Patrol request on Forest Street overnight in reference to illegal dumping.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Green Street – In reference to juveniles attempting to fight. A large crowd was observed in the roadway. No active fight observed while on scene, the crowd dispersed in all directions upon my arrival.
  • Accident – MLK JR Blvd; Fit Body Boot Camp – Two vehicle accident with no injuries. Both parties denied a formal accident report. Incident report completed.
  • Accident – Green Street – Two vehicles, no injuries were reported on scene. Report in GEARS.
  • Juvenile Complaint – King Street- In reference to juvenile assaulting subject. And damaging her mother’s property. Juvenile complaint form completed. Hold was not placed by Juvenile Justice. Juvenile was handed back over to her mother.
  • Vehicle Unlock – Bealls: Caller cancelled prior to arrival.

  • Residential Alarm – S Lumpkin St – Alarm company canceled, all appeared ok on location.
  • Accident w/ Injuries – N Broad St – In reference to a two vehicle with injuries. Turned over to GSP.
  • Civil Dispute – Ash Ln – In reference to a follow up from day shift.
  • Civil Issue – Victory Dr – In reference to the complainant advising subject was on location. Officers spoke with subject in reference to a missing trailer that was on location prior and advised he had no knowledge it was missing and thought it was still out there. Complainant was advised that the incident involving the trailer would be turned over to our CID unit for further investigation.
  • EMS Assist – N Midland Ave. In reference to complainant reporting her sister finding suspected Fentanyl in her boyfriend’s wallet. Narcotics were seized and placed into evidence to be destroyed after confirming it was Fentanyl. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – West Spring St, Taco Bell – In reference to multiple vehicles driving recklessly throughout the Taco Bell Parking lot, turning onto West Spring Street and headed towards 138. The complainant did not wish to meet. Area checks conducted, negative contact.
  • Juvenile Problem – Stonecreek Bnd – In reference to the complainant advising her son who has autism was having an episode and wanted an Officer to speak with son. Remedies advised.
  • Juvenile Problem – Mayfield Dr- In reference to a group of juveniles running across Hwy 78 towards the direction of Mayfield Drive. The complainant advised that the juveniles threw an object at his vehicle. The complainant could not provide a detailed description of the juveniles nor did he wish to meet with law enforcement. Area of Lead Foot Diesel and Mayfield drive were checked, negative contact.
  • Locked Vehicle – E Washington St – Vehicle unlocked, no damage was observed.
  • Damage to Property – King Street- In reference to complainant reporting one of her outdoor flower pots being smashed only a few minutes earlier. Complainant advised that this is the third pot since last summer to be destroyed. Suspect description unknown. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Saltbox Lane – Vehicle with unsecure rear door. Door was resecured. All OK.
  • Prowler – S Broad St – In reference to the complainant advising he could hear people yelling then stated to Officers that he was being stalked. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
  • Civil Issue – Harris Street – In reference to complainant advising her husband stole her vehicle. Complainant was advised the vehicle is marital property and to refer to the civil process.
  • Assault – E Church Street – In reference to reports of a male subject being jumped by several people on the side of the road. Negative contact was made until the victim was later located walking. Medical treatment and prosecution was declined.
  • Vehicle Collision – W Spring, Walmart – Two vehicles, no injuries on scene. See report in GEARS.
  • Theft – In reference to the complainant advising that a package was stolen off of their porch. Upon officers arrival the package was discovered at the complainant’s residence.
  • Private property accident – Tractor Supply, 2 vehicles no damage, Gears report
  • Wanted Person – Masters Drive – Femalesubject located arriving at her mother’s home with an active warrant out of Walton County for Failure to Appear. She was arrested and transported to WCSO Jail without incident.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – HWY 78 & New Hope Church Rd. – In reference to a Ford Expedition driving recklessly towards the City limits of Monroe. Area was checked, negative contact.
  • EMS Assist – Towler Street – Standby for EMS due to repeated calls from this address.
  • Suspicious Person – Victory Drive – In reference to subjects moving items out of the home. The subject who lived on location and was getting his belongings.
  • Other Law – W Spring St- Male asked the store to use the phone and dialed 911 and hung up the phone. Upon arrival, the male refused any law enforcement assistance
  • Domestic Dispute – Rosewood Lane- In reference to complainant requesting to document an argument that she had with her soon to be ex-husband while they were driving to dinner with their two children. Report taken.
  • Dispute call – Turner St. – In reference to complainant reporting her bipolar nephew being aggressive towards her mother and acting out. Civil remedies were advised.
  • Firearms – Carwood Dr: Fireworks being discharged in the area. All OK
  • Vehicle Unlock – Applewood Dr- Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
  • Suspicious Person – Hwy 11 Bridge, Hwy 78- In reference to a group of individuals standing underneath the Hwy 11 Bridge throwing a drink at the complainant’s vehicle as it was driving by on 78. The complainant did not wish to meet. Foot patrol and area checks conducted underneath the bridge and the surrounding area. Negative contact.
  • Road Rage – Breedlove Dr & Kings Ridge Dr – In reference to the complainant advising of a Mustang following too closely and attempting to run them off of the roadway. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
  • Other law – Baker St. In reference to complainant claiming that there are several cameras in his house and holograms of dancing people that come on throughout the night and that he could hear voices. Unfounded.
  • Suspicious Person – East Spring Street, BP- In reference to the BP employee requesting to have a subject criminally trespassed from the store. Subject was gone when officers arrived. Area checks conducted, negative contact.
  • Threats – Baker St – In reference to complainant being threatened by a suspect and was in fear of receiving harm. Report taken.
