MPD Reports: Juvenile truancy, disobedience, shoplifting and threatening parent complaints

The City of Monroe Police Department is reporting the following incidents for the period March 18 – 25, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Assault – Plaza Dr. In reference to a subject who assaulted his mother. 

Hit and Run – US 78, Walton Truck Stop. In reference to a tractor trailer. Original complainant advised that they were going to the Walmart DC parking lot, but was no where to be found in the parking lot while officers were on scene. 

Shoplifting – MLK Jr Blvd in reference to a white male subject taking four pair of boots, three recovered, and leaving the store in a white S10. Report made. 

Dispute – W Spring St; Car Wash in reference to a dispute between the owner and a customer over using the dumpster. Situation was resolved prior to Officer arrival. 

Dispute -Lacy Street. Parties had been drinking and got into an argument. Everything ok. Situation diffused. Parties left the area without incident. 

Shoplifting – E Church St. A juvenile was caught by the clerk shoplifting. The juvenile was issued a criminal trespass warning and released to his legal guardian. 

Parental Assist -Alcovy St at Ammons Bridge subject walking in the roadway. subject was turned over to a family member. 

Dispute – 2050 W Spring St; Walmart. In ref to a subject on location disputing with her ex-boyfriend and other parties on location. She was issued a criminal trespass notice. Report taken 

Dispute – W. Creek Cir. Caller advised her and her child’s father were arguing. Situation diffused. Male left without incident. 

Suspicious Person -Towler Street at Skyview – Officer observed subject intoxicated walking in the roadway. Subject was given a ride home due to his level of intoxication. 

Juvenile Complaint – Baron Drive: 13-year-old male refusing to go to school and not listening to his mother. Remedies advised. 

Juvenile Complaint – Baron Drive 13-year-old Juvenile with Mental health disorder breaking a window and threatening his mother. Juvenile complaint completed, report taken and juvenile turned over to hospital staff in reference to mental health. 

Suspicious vehicle – E Marable Street (Matthews ParK) Four subject were smoking marijuana inside a vehicle. All 4 subjects were issued citatations. 

Hit-and-Run – Highway 138 (Chick-Fil-A): In reference to a white F-150 making contact with the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant wanted the incident to be documented. Report made. 

Fraud – South Madison Avenue. The complainant received traffic tickets from New York City under his name for speeding. Complainant stated he has never been to New York City. Report requested.
