MPD Reports: Methadone belonging to woman hospitalized for an overdose turned over to police

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 7 – 13, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into six parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Dispute -1400 Hwy 78; Walton Truck Stop – In reference to a dispute between an employee and a truck driver regarding paid parking. A solution was advised and the situation resolved.
• Dispute – Lawrence St -Reference third party report of a dispute occurring at on Lawrence Street. Contact was made with an involved party of the dispute. She stated the dispute was verbal only in reference to her ex-boyfriend’s phone being locked in her room accidentally. Her boyfriend was gone on arrival.
• Dispute – Tall Oaks West – In reference to the complainant arguing with her neighbor. Situation was mediated.
• Follow Up – Green Street – In reference to juvenile believing she had been listed as missing. It was determined the juvenile had not been entered into GCIC. All ok.
• Vehicle Lockout – Duke Street – Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 and E Spring St – Named subject arrested for warrants out of Greene County. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
• Downtown Patrol: 1000; 1200; 1400; 1600
• Accident – Hwy 178 at Starbucks – Two vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARS report.
• Hit and Run – Johns Supermarket – Two vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARS report.
• Vehicle Unlock – E.Washington St – Reference Ford F150. Vehicle unlocked, no damage
• Accident – W Spring St – 2 Vehicle private property accident. GEARS report completed.
• Civil Issue – Union St – Civil issued about the neighbors garbage. Remedies advised.
• Traffic stop – Highway 78 / Highway 138 – Reference vehicle stopped due to an equipment offense. The driver identified himself and his name did not return in GCIC. He stated he did not have a license and was in the county illegally. An IAQ returned with him having been previously deported. ICE was contacted, the agency then placed a detainer on hime and he was placed under arrest and transported to WCSO for his traffic offenses and an ICE detainer.
• Accident – Landers St – Two vehicle accident with one complaint of injury. GEARS report.
• Area Check – Hwy 78/Unisia Drive – In reference to the complainant believing a parachute landed in a field in the area. All skydivers accounted for at Skydive Monroe.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 11 N All Star – Named subject arrested for warrants out of Barrow County. He was transported to Windstream and released into Barrow County Sheriff’s Office custody.
• Alarm – E Spring – The Fish – All Ok on location.
• Traffic Stop – Highway 78 / Highway 138 – Reference Vehicle stopped for moving offense the driver later identified by Rapid ID, Hewas placed under arrest for false name and date of birth and for an active warrant out of Gwinnett and various other traffic offenses.
• Alarm – Davita Dialysis – All Okay on location.
• Vehicle Unlock – MLK Jr Blvd – Mister Carwash – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Other Law – 140 Blaine St; MPD – In reference to subject turning over Methadone, belonging to his sister. She is currently in Piedmont Athens due to an overdose. Report taken.
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All okay.
• Vehicle Unlock – MLK Blvd – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Accident – Pavilion Pkwy; Publix – Two vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARS report.
• Dispute – Tall Oaks W – In reference to complainant calling in reference to subjects disputing. Upon Officer arrival one subject advised that the other subject (14-year-old) and adult subject had been having intercourse earlier. Report taken Turned over to CID.
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All okay.
• Suspicious Person – Baker St – In reference to a named subject on location loitering. The subject was found to have an outstanding probation warrant; he was placed under arrest and transported to WCSO.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Cedar Ridge / Whitman Cir – The area was checked with negative contact.
• Assault – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – Security was assaulted by a 10-13 while being restrained. The male was highly intoxicated and cited for disorderly conduct. Report completed.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 / W Spring St – Vehicle unable to maintain lane. Vehicle direction was towards Conyers, lookout passed onto county.
• Unknown Law – S Broad St / W Washington St – Male and female were highly intoxicated and trying to get Uber home. They were given a courtesy ride home within the city limits.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – N Broad Street / Mayfield Dr – Named subject was stopped for a moving violation and found to be DUI. He was arrested and turned over to Georgia State Patrol and WCSO.
• Other Law – Lacy St – Subject that was a witness from earlier call stated police were looking for him. I met with the male who stated he did not want to speak to CID or write a statement. Male left on foot.
• Assault – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – Complainant advised she was assaulted by three females at the Stadium Lounge. Report completed.
• Disturbing the Peace – Lacy St – In reference to a block party, subjects were advised to keep it down. All ok.
• Dispute – Perry St – Verbal dispute between two female subjects over one not wanting the other to drive due to her being intoxicated. Parties separated and one went inside the residence.
