MPD Reports: Physical altercation between mother and daughter over daughter not cleaning her room; other domestic disputes and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 27, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Harassment – West Spring Street; Walmart – In reference to a complainant wishing to file a harassment report, the complainant was advised to file a report with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, as the alleged incident occurred within their jurisdiction.
• Mechanical Breakdown – S Broad St at Johns Super Market – In reference to a RV camper breaking down. The vehicle was able to be jumped off, and the roadway was reopened.
• Child Custody – Walton Rd – In reference to previous call, complainant wanted her child from the father. The father would not answer the phone so the Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the grandfather’s residence to make contact. Contact was made and the father returned on location. After speaking with both parents they decided to leave the child at his home with his father. Remedies advised.
• Other Law – East Spring Street; Monroe Motor Inn – In reference to a named subject requesting a ride to Athens because her ride did not pick her up. The subject had an active felony probation violation warrant out of Athens-Clarke County and was placed under arrest and transported to WCSO jail. Report taken.
• Area check – Booth Dr. – In reference to a neighbor hearing a possible dispute. Negative contact made, all appeared ok on location.
• Vehicle Accident – E Church St; Jack Peters – In reference to a two vehicle collision with a report of injury by complaint. Report completed in GEARS. The driver was cleared by EMS.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Highway 138 at West Spring Street. In reference to a Kia Forte driving recklessly in the area. The area was checked; negative contact.
• Street Racing – Gliding Ln and Baron Dr. – In reference to a report of multiple vehicles racing. Negative contact with any street racing.
• Vehicle Accident – HWY 138 / Starbucks – In reference to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.
• Domestic Dispute – Magnolia Terrace – In reference to complainant and her son verbally disputing over girls. The juvenile’s father is picking him up for the evening.
• Assist Motorist – Mayfield Dr: Vehicle unlocked with no new damage.
• Assist Motorist – Walton Rd – Vehicle unlocked with no new damage.
• Theft Report – Storehouse Ct – In reference to the complainant stating someone took her door dash order off of her porch. Report taken.
• Fire Assist – Tigers Way – In reference to a fire started by a grill on residents back porch. The fire was extinguished and turned over to the fire department.
• Business Alarm – MLK Jr Blvd; Longhorns – All windows and doors secure.
• 911 Hang-up – GW Carver Dr – In reference to a named subject dialing emergency services, leaving an open line as he suspected the person who was the culprit in his hit and run was at 150 GW Carver Dr. Upon arrival, the person of interest was gone, though a license plate was observed. Report taken.
• Suspicious Person – North Broad Street, Perry Street- In reference to two individuals sitting on the side of the closed market. Subjects advised that they stopped to take a break from walking. They were informed of loitering laws and sent on their way.
• Suspicious Person – Baker St – In reference to subject crying at the end of the driveway to her residence. Contact was made, and she informed officers that she was upset due to a breakup. All ok.
• Business Alarm – Pavilion Parkway / Old Navy – In reference to a backdoor alarm activation. Contact was made with the delivery personnel. All ok.
• Vehicle Unlock – Piedmont Walton – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Mechanical Breakdown – Hwy 138 – In reference to a vehicle out of gas on Hwy 138 SW. Officers were able to push the vehicle into a nearby gore and the owner returned shortly after with gas for the vehicle. All okay.
• Area Check – W Spring St.; Walmart – In reference to complainant believing subject may have been on location in a Honda Accord. Complainant has a TPO against subject. The area was patrolled with negative contact.
• Vehicle Lockout – MLK Blvd – unlocked no damage
• Damage to Property – DBL Springs Church Rd- Semi truck snapped telephone pole pulling down wires. Michael Griffin was arrested for Theft by Deception warrant out of Bartow County. Truck and trailer removed by Taylor’s. Report in GEARS.
• Civil Issue – Parkway Pl. – In reference to complainant stating that her sister-in-law was in possession of her recently-deceased husband’s vehicle. Sister-in-law was spoken with over the phone and confirmed she had the vehicle. It was then discovered that complainant was never legally married. Civil remedies were advised to both parties.
• Vehicle Unlock – MLK Jr. Blvd – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Forgery – E Washington St; Synovus: In reference to a forged check from 03-24-26. Report taken.
• Civil Issue – Bankers Blvd – In reference to the complainant paying a subject to complete a job on a vehicle. The subject was incarcerated after payment was received. Remedies advised.
• Suspicious Person – Alcovy St – In reference to an unknown male possibly trespassing. Negative contact.
• Accident – W Spring St; Burger King – Two vehicle accident with no injuries at the exit near burger king.
• Welfare Check – Victory Dr – In reference to making contact with subject. Subject was found to be at Ridgeview in Smyrna on a 10-13.
• Welfare Check – S Madison Ave – Subject not on location. Complainant could not advise correct address
• Other Law – W Spring St.; Piedmont Walton – In reference to ER staff unsure if a juvenile patient could be released to a woman that arrived and claimed custody of the juvenile. It was confirmed with Walton County DFCS that the woman was a DFCS Supervisor and that the State had custody of the juvenile. All okay.
• EMS Assist – E Fambrough St – In reference to subject on location, unresponsive. CPR provided on scene by EMS. Subject transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
• Mental Subject – S Madison Ave; Felker Park – In reference to subject on location having a mental episode. Subject was on location yelling and throwing items, disrupting the ongoing sporting events in the park. Subject was located and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. He was transported to Piedmont Walton, where he was 1013 in lieu of charges. Report taken, and mental health survey completed.
• Dispute – S Broad St – In reference to the complainant advising his neighbor refused to put his pit-bull on a leash. Contact was made with the owner who agreed to put the dog indoors.
• Civil Issue – Plaza Dr – In reference to subject kicking in the front door of his residence after being locked out by his wife. Remedies advised.
• Vehicle Breakdown – Hwy 78 / Cherry Hill – In reference to a vehicle that ran out of gas on Hwy 78 WB. The vehicle was assisted with getting gas and moved.
• Business Alarm – W Spring St; Marathon – All doors and windows secured.
• Business Alarm – S Broad St; Monroe First United Methodist Church – Door standing open leading to a maintenance room. The room was cleared and no signs of forced entry. All other doors and windows were secured.
• Mechanical Breakdown – Hwy 78 EB / W Spring St – In reference to a F150 broken down in the roadway of HWY 78 EB. Vehicle removed from roadway by driver
• Accident – Hwy 78EB / Hwy 138 – In reference to a vehicle collision with a deer. The area of the collision was found to be in the county. Turned over to WCSO.
• Accident – East Spring Street @ Broad Street, 2 vehicles no injuries. A tractor trailer turning on to East Spring St from Broad St struck a parked vehicle. The tractor trailer was impounded due to no insurance and expired tag.
• Follow-up – E Fambrough St – In reference to attempting to locate a wanted subject. Negative contact made the homeowner advised she no longer lives on location.
• Elder Abuse – S Madison Ave – In reference to subject telling staff that he had no access to food or money when he was at home. Contact was made with his sister / caretaker at the residence. No signs of abuse were present.
• Accident – N Broad & Mayfield Dr- Two vehicles, no report on injuries. Gears Report
• Mechanical Breakdown – West Spring St – Reference Ford Ranger. Area checked, no contact made.
• Extra Patrol – Maple St- Requested due to kids in the area throwing rocks. Negative contact.
• Suspicious Person – E Church Street: Chevron – In reference to subject on location. The owner requested that he be Criminally Trespassed from the property due to several offenses of theft and shoplifting. Subject was located and served with a CTN for five years.
• Juvenile Complainant – Rose Ison Ter- Juveniles playing basketball at Rose Ison Ter. The juvenile was cursing other juveniles out and threatening to slap them. The complainant was advised of filing a good behavior warrant and to contact the housing authority.
• Damage to Property – Glen Iris Drive – In reference to the complainant wanting to report damage to a flower pot.
• Other Law – Landers Street- In reference to the complainant wishing to report suspicious activity that has been occurring on her street the last few days to include an unknown male parking in front of her residence. Report taken.
• Dispute – Classic Trail- In reference to two unknown subjects yelling at a juvenile and chasing him down the street. Contact was made with the complainant and the juvenile. The juvenile advised that he did not know who the two suspects were. Area checks conducted, negative contact.
• 911 Hang Up – MLK Jr Blvd. Tractor Supply; Contact was made with the store manager who advised it was an accident and all was ok.
• Mechanical Breakdown – E Marable / The Hot Spot: In reference to a vehicle with a flat tire. Spare-Tire was successfully put on and the complainant was sent on her way.
• Juvenile Problem – Store House Court – In reference to a physical dispute between subject and her juvenile daughter due to her not listening to her mother or cleaning her room. Juvenile Chins form completed. Report taken.
• Suspicious Person – E Fambrough St – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects over visitors at the residence. The visitors agreed to leave.
• Suspicious Person – Baker Street, Walton Village- In reference to an unknown male described as Caucasian, mid-twenties, wearing a blue button down shirt and ball cap riding a bicycle through the parking lot. The complainant advised the individual appeared to be casing the area and left the parking lot after he saw the complainant. Area checked, negative contact.
• Suspicious Person – Matthews Park: In reference to subject sitting down on the park benches after park hours. Subject was informed of park rules / loitering city ordinances and sent on his way without incident.
• Domestic Dispute – Aycock Ave, The Jax – In reference to a verbal dispute called in by a third- party caller. It was determined that the argument was between subject and her boyfriend. No signs of physical violence. Civil remedies advised.
• 911 Hang-up – Kendall Ct- False alarm, spoke with the homeowner at the residence, everything okay. Recurring issue with the phone line.
• Loud Music – Tanglewood Dr: In reference to residents in surrounding streets, contacting Emergency Services stating there was loud music coming from the Tanglewood area. Contact was made, and the residents were advised to lower the music; they did so without issue. All OK.
• Suspicious Person – Baker St, S Hammond- Contact was made with subject due to the time of night, him walking in the roadway and the uptick in entering autos recently. He advised he was walking home to his grandmother’s residence on Parkway Place. He was advised to stay out of the road and away from the Short Stop.
