The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 14 – 21, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
EMS Assist – S Broad St. Reference to a reported fall call. Complainant advised subject being combative, contact made with patient who was alert, conscious, and compliant. Turned over to EMS
Unknown Law – Lacy St. Reference to two parties involved in a verbal dispute. No Physical violence alleged by either party. Remedies advised.
Burglary in Progress – Ash Lane – The complainant thought someone was in his house. The complainant advised Officers he was having a bad dream so he called 911.
Dispute – Heritage Trace: Subject disputing with staff due to putting clothes in his floor, and not picking them up. Situation mediated.
EMS Assist – South Broad Street Complainant needing medical attention after falling and hitting her head. Complainant was under the influence of Meth and Alcohol. TOT EMS
Theft – East Spring Street a theft of a wallet that occurred on 01/17/21.
Damage to Property – MLK Jr. Blvd. at Enterprise. In reference to a vehicle damaged sometime between Jan. 15 and this date. Report taken.
Damage to Property – Heritage Dr. Ref to the complainant requesting a report to be made of his vehicle being damaged. Report taken.
Shoplifting – West Spring St., Citi Trends. Two black males stole approximately 20 purses and then left the scene in a green passenger car. Area searched for vehicle with negative contact.
Missing Person – Custom Way. Complainant reported her 3-year-old brother missing. Brother was found in bed under covers.
Dispute – Walker Dr. Two subjects in a verbal argument over vehicle parking. Situation mediated.
Theft report – East Spring St., Spring Street Laundry. Ref to clothes being stolen out of the dryer. Officer had negative contact with the complainant.
Theft report – East Spring St., Spring Street Laundry. Follow up, contact was made with the complainant. Report taken.
Dispute – Heritage Trace. Dispute between complainant and caretaker. Report taken.
Other law – South Madison Ave., Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Ref to a possible elder abuse and bank fraud case at Armested. Civil remedies advised.
Theft report – South Broad St., MPD. Supplemental added to original case all ok. Follow Up – Heritage Trace. Staff was refusing to give subject his own lighter. Subject was given his lighter by staff.
Dispute – Heritage Trace. Mental patient requesting 3-4 officer ref to his caregiver not giving him a lighter. Subject is out on an ankle monitor from the jail with pending arson charges. Remedies advised.
Threats – Southside MHP. Caller advised a vehicle was driving too fast up and down the street. He confronted the driver and the driver told him to mind his business. Area was checked. Remedies given.
Dispute – Heritage Trace. In reference to a dispute over a cell phone. Remedies were advised to subject reference his ankle monitor and not wanting to reside at the residence anymore. All ok.
Dispute – E Church St. Jack Peters. In reference to a subject wearing a blue and pink jacket and pointing a firearm/threatening to murder everyone on location per the complainant. Officer was unable to review camera footage while on scene. Report taken.
Other Law – Walker Dr. In reference to the complainant advising that someone is calling their dealership making threats referencing the complainant driving a vehicle. Complainant advised that someone impersonating an officer called his dealership and slandered his name, as well as threatened an employee at the dealership that they had purchased their vehicle from. The complainant also advised that the call came from a blocked number and the subject stated that their name was Ofc. Black. Complainant advised that he wanted to speak with officer in reference to the incident since he came out to his residence earlier this date.
Dispute – The Hotspot. In reference to earlier call this date at Jack Peters. The complainant advised that the female subject from Jack Peters followed them to the Hotspot and is holding a firearm out the window.
Dispute – US 78. Walton Truck Stop. In reference to truck drivers having a dispute over a parking space. A woman stated she was struck by the other driver on her right hip but does not wish to press charges. Nothing further.
