MPD Reports: Probationer refuses room and mental evaluation, wants to go to jail

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 16 – 23, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to property – S. Madison Ave., Felker Park. Ref to graffiti on a concession stand. Damage to Property – S. Broad St, MPD. Damage to a vehicle from Saturday night. Report taken. 
  • Follow Up – Cook Place. Recovered stolen vehicle out of Lawrenceville, removed from the scene by Jays, hold placed for Gwinnett PD.
  • Other Law – Hwy 78 EB at the Conyers exit. Ref to a car seat hanging over the guard rail. It was checked and all was ok, no child inside.
  • Civil Issue – Wilkins Dr. Civil Issue between subject and her landlord. Parties advised of civil remedies. Landlord is COVID-19 positive.
  • Fight – S. Broad St., Pinnacle Bank. Reference to a male and female in drive-thru of the bank in an apparent altercation. Contact was made and subjects were sent on their way.
  • Warrant attempt – Lacy St. Tevin Ridgeway arrested for multiple felony warrants after being tazed twice and a brief struggle. Cleared by EMS, and additional warrants taken.
  • Suspicious person – S. Broad St., Edward Jones Investments. A subject on location told to leave and did so. He was also warned of future consequences.
  • Theft report – Sorrells St. Ref to a bicycle taken in the last 24 hours, report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Cherry Hill Rd and Hwy 78 EB. In reference to an officer conducting an area check and observed a red in color Pontiac Grand obstructing the roadway. The vehicle was entered into GCIC as abandoned and removed by Taylor’s. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St (Piedmont Walton) – In reference to a subject walking around in the parking lot asking random people for a ride. The subject was advised to leave the parking lot.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St (Harry’s Marathon) – Complainant advised a subject, had opened his car door and was asking him for a ride. The complainant left the scene and called 911. The subject was located still standing at the incident location. He was arrested for OCGA 16-11-36 Loitering. He was also Criminally Trespassed from the location.
  • Dispute – HWY 78; Walton Truck Stop. A verbal dispute between two subjects over $5.00. Situation mediated.
  • Follow up – Green St. Reference to meeting with a subject who had more information on a Hit & Run.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St., MD Pain Clinic. Female disputing with Lyft driver over the ride. The Female arranged another Lyft home.
  • Public relations event) at 207 Milledge Ave. Ref to blue light parade for a juvenile birthday, all ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Maple St. at the Tuscon Lodge. Made contact with two subjects. They were sent on their way all ok.
  • Dispute – Towler St.; Complainant reported her boyfriend took the key to her residence and her stimulus check. The boyfriend stated the money and key were at the complainant’s house. Situation mediated.
  • Agency assist – Walton County Sheriff’s Office requested MPD to meet them in the county ref to a suicide attempt for a subject who had an MPD Failure to Appear warrant. Request denied due to MPD not placing a hold.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. Dollar General. Second party was gone on arrival, all ok.
  • Agency assist – Alcovy St., GA Probation Management. Complainant called stating people were threatening him and he wanted to go to jail. Refused offer of a room or a mental evaluation.
  • Vehicle accident with injuries – Davis St. Two vehicles vs. power pole. On arrival, it was located on Madison Ave. and a single vehicle with no injuries. Monroe Utilities responded. Turned over to GSP.
  • Combative mental patient – W. Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Subject was going into other ER rooms and left the building on foot, he was returned to the hospital and turned over to nurses.
  • Damage to property – Tanglewood Ln; In reference to complainant advised he noticed a hole in his motorcycle this date. Report Taken.
