MPD Reports: Stolen firearm located where 2 subjects were shooting at each other during dispute; mother reports 14-year-old stole $6 from her

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 2 – 9, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Other Law – Tall Oaks East – In reference to an issue that occurred at Harmony Elementary School. Walton County dispatch notified the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. No action taken by the Monroe Police Department.
• Other law – Stowers St – Reference 6-year-old pulling teeth out and being aggressive towards younger siblings. The mother wished to have the child transported to Children’s Health Care of Atlanta for evaluation. Upon arrival, it was discovered this incident occurred yesterday, child was transported to CHOA by Walton County EMS per request.
• 911 Hang-Up – Kendall Ct. In reference to a 911 hang up from this residence. Contact was made with the homeowner, who advised they are having ongoing issues with their landline.
• Dispute – Cherokee Ave. – In reference to a dispute involving custody of a K9. The dispute was mediated and both parties were advised of remedies. Report taken.
• Welfare Check – Wheeler St. – Reference request for welfare check on subject by her niece. No contact was made at the door.
• Vehicle Unlock – Tanglewood Dr – Reference Honda Accord with child inside. Vehicle unlocked prior to my arrival, all ok on scene.
• Disabled Vehicle – Highway 78 Eastbound at Highway 11. In reference to a Ford Expedition with a flat tire. The vehicle was removed from the roadway.
• 911 Hang-Up – South Madison Avenue; Felker Park.- In reference to a 911 hang-up call from a cell phone pinging inside the Felker Community Center building, contact was made with subject who advised that the call was accidental and occurred while she was working out. All was okay on scene.
• 911 Hang-Up – Mill Street. In reference to a 911 hang up from this residence. Contact was made with the homeowner who advised all was okay on location.
• Loud Music – Landers Street – In reference to subjects on location playing loud music from a vehicle. Contact was made with the subjects, and they were advised to keep their music at a reasonable volume.
• Funeral Escort – Highway 78 Eastbound at Unisia Dr. In reference to assisting the Walton County Sheriff’s Office with a funeral escort. All okay.
• Hit and Run – Unisia Dr at Hwy 78- Minivan struck by passenger car. Complainant denied prosecution and crash report.
• Area Check – Sorrells St – Reference area check regarding subject leaving trash on the front porch. Subject was advised to keep the area clean. Resident was advised of remedies.
• Shoplifting – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd; Tractor Supply – In reference to a white female in a Ford Sedan stealing (8) eight bags of mulch and fleeing the scene. Report taken.
• Dispute call – GW Carver Dr. – In reference to a possible dispute being heard in the area. The area was checked, negative contact made, all appeared ok.
• Suspicious person – Walmart – In reference to a female on location having a medical episode. The female was transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS. The Social Circle Police department was contacted due to a domestic dispute involving the female occurring in their jurisdiction. Report taken
• Scam Report – 140 Blaine St – Reference report of a scam via phone. The complainant advised she was asked to draw out $10,000 in order to pay bond to her grandson. The complainant stated she paid no money and made contact with her grandson who was ok. Report made.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Davis Street – In reference to a male in a Toyota Tacoma honking at the caller as she turned into her driving them exiting the vehicle and yelling at her. The subject was gone when officers arrived. Report taken.
• Juvenile Complaint – Atha St – In reference to the complainant advising that a child next door was making threats to fight her 10 year old child. Both parties and parents were spoken to and remedies were advised. No further action taken.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – North Broad Street, Franks Valero- In reference to subject being pulled over for multiple bike violations. He attempted to flee the traffic stop and was taken into custody. He was transported to the WCSO and charged with multiple bicycle violations, obstruction and possession of drug related objects.
• Civil Issue – Booth Dr – In reference to a civil dispute between the complainant and her son. Remedies advised.
• Firearms – Landers St & E Church St – In reference to the complainant hearing spreading vehicles and approximately five gunshots. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
• Firearms – Heritage Ridge – In reference to the complainant advising that there were gunshots around the area of the Heritage Ridge subdivision. Area checked with negative contact of any firearm discharges.
• Private Property Accident – Pavilion Parkway- In reference to a named subject speeding through the parking lot, laying drag and striking a curb causing him to jump the curb and strike multiple bushes, a sign and a trash can. He was placed under arrest for reckless driving and laying drag and transported to the WCSO. The vehicle was impounded by Taylors wrecking. GEARS report completed.

Suspicious Person – West Spring Street / Harry’s Marathon – In reference to subject, on location, yelling and making the staff feel uncomfortable. Subject was informed he needed to leave, and did so without issue.
• Noise Complainant – Store House Ct – Loud Music coming from inside the Apartment, Could not hear it from the road, but spoke with the tenant who advised he would turn it down
• Suspicious Vehicle – Martin Luther King Jr Blvd; Valero – In reference to a subject sleeping in a vehicle refusing to leave. Subject was given a CTN and removed from the property.
• Vehicle collision – W Spring St; Walmart – In reference to a pickup truck striking a fixed pole in the parking lot. GEARS report completed.
• Welfare Check – Highway 78 / Aycock Ave – In reference to an elderly female driving to the hospital with medical history. Vehicle located in the parking lot of Piedmont Walton.
• Dispute – Saratoga Dr- Report of male subject being irate due to the post office not giving him a package. Report only situation was resolved by supervisor
• Unsecured Premise – Felker St- Residence cleared, no signs of forced entry. Home Owner requested door to be locked and shut.
• Wanted Person – Tanglewood Drive – Named subject located walking down the street with several children. He was placed under arrest for his active warrant out of Walton County for violation and taken to the WCSO Jail without incident. The children were turned over to their mother.
• Other law – N Midland Ave – Operation Rally Point. In reference to a patient being released from Ridgeview and not able to obtain his property due to Ridgeview staff stating they did not have the patient’s property. The property was found and brought back to patient.
• Private Property Crash – Hwy 138; Chik Fil A- Two vehicle private property crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Child Abuse – Atha St- Complainant requested to meet at the Police Department. Contact was made with all parties, no evidence of abuse was observed.
• Welfare Check – Breedlove Drive; Ridgeview – Call cleared. Complaint contacted via phone.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Davis Street / Pine Park Street – Vehicle stopped for seatbelt violation. The driver fled on foot and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. He was cleared by EMS and turned over WCSO jail without incident. Warrants were obtained for Seatbelt Violation, Possession of Schedule IV, Misd. Obstruction and Drugs not in the Original Container. Use of force completed, report taken.
• Juvenile Complaint – Tall Oaks East- In reference to complainant calling about her 14-year-old son stealing six dollars from her. No charges were taken due to conflicting stories. Report taken.
• Shooting – King Street – In reference to a group of males disputing and shooting at one another: Two subjects were detained and brought back to the PD for questioning. A modified Glock 17 was located on the scene that was stolen out of Commerce PD. Turned over to CID.
• Dispute – Sorrells St – In reference to two subjects verbally disputing over how one entered the residence. Both individuals were heavily intoxicated, the parties were separated and advised of remedies. The other subject agreed to stay with a friend until things could be mediated. All Ok.
• Identity Theft – Fleeting Way- In reference to the caller sending a picture of his driver’s license on a job application. Caller believed it was a scam. Remedies advised.
• Other Law – 140 Blaine St; Monroe PD – Extended ETA to meet with complainant due to high call volume. The complainant was originally at WCSO to file report, but advised to come to Monroe PD to meet with officers. The complainant was not on location when units were available to meet.
• Dispute – Camptown Gardens – Complainant reporting subject flashed a handgun in his waistband in an attempt to have complainant tell him where his older brothers were.
