MPD Reports: Suicide attempt with an overdose of suspected Xanax; Intoxicated, aggressive man arrested after refusing to turn down music

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 20 – 26, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy; Huey Magoo’s – All doors and windows secured.
• Suicide Attempt – E Church St – In reference to a named advising his friend had told him she had taken 30 “footballs” which he assumed were Xanax. Contact was made with the subject who was turned over to EMS.
• Disabled Vehicle – Hwy 78 / Hwy 11- In reference to a vehicle on the side of Hwy 78 with a flat tire, officers stood by until it could be changed.
• Civil Issue – W. Spring St; Bank of America ATM – Complainant advised the ATM will not give back his debit card. The complainant was advised to call the bank branch Monday morning.
• Loud Music/Intoxicated Subject – Douglas St – Loud music coming from the trailer. Contact was made with the homeowner who was extremely intoxicated. He was told he needed to turn the music down. Male became verbally aggressive yelling at officers. He was again told to go inside and turn the music down. As officers were leaving he again yelled and became verbally aggressive at officers. He was placed under arrest for disorderly contact and transported to the jail where he was released to deputies.
• Dispute – E Washington St – In reference to multiple subjects on location all disputing and possibly fighting. After further investigation it was determined an altercation did occur but no parties wished to press charges. All parties were separated for the rest of the night. Report taken
• Alarm – Ramesh Ln – Alarm activation lower basement door. Located the lower basement door unlocked with no contact at the residence. Entry was made into the home where several announcements were made as officers cleared the residence. Contact was made by family members inside the home. All ok on scene.
• Dispute – Maple Ln – In reference to a neighbor parking a U-Haul in a handicapped parking spot, no contact was made with the neighbors. The parking spot did not meet state requirements as handicapped parking, the complainant was advised of remedies.
• Courtesy Ride – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – Courtesy ride to a grandmother
• Suspicious Person – S Broad St; Historic Courthouse – Complainant stated an hour before calling, she saw a suspicious male with a backpack walking around the historic courthouse. A foot patrol was conducted but no one matching the description was located.
• Dispute – King St – In reference to complainant arguing with her boyfriend and being disruptive. Parties were separated, complainant’s boyfriend agreed to leave the residence.
• Mechanical Breakdown – Hwy 138/West Spring – Negative contact.
• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy – Employees on location; All okay
• Loud Music – Aycock Ave – Area checked with negative contact.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 and Aycock Ave – Subject taken into custody for warrants out of Conyers following a traffic stop. Transported to WC Jail without incident.
• Illegal Parking – W Highland- car blocking mail box. Situation handled.
• Alarm – Michael Cir. – Homeowner on location, all okay.
• Alarm – Plaza Drive Apt. C – Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
• Vehicle Accident – Hwy 138 – Private property accident. No injuries. Gears report completed.
• Child Abuse – Aycock Avenue – In reference to a child that is at CHOA Scottish Rite. CID was notified and responded to the hospital.
• Direct Traffic – W Spring St – In reference to two semi-trucks stuck in traffic unable to turn. Traffic cleared.
• Fraud – 140 Blaine St – Monroe PD – In reference to subject having issues with his debit card and the Truist ATM. No fraud occurred.
• Stolen Vehicle – East Washington Street – In reference to a truck belonging to Peters and Fosters stolen. The suspect and truck were located in Good Hope. Suspect was taken into custody.
• Theft Report – Magnolia Ter. – In reference to complainant reporting that she believed a certain subject had stolen two bracelets from her approximately two weeks prior. Report taken.
• Alarm – North Broad Street – All buildings appeared secure.
• Vehicle Crash – W Spring St. – Two vehicle crash involving EMS Unit. GSP advised of an extended ETA. GEARS report.
• Follow Up – Lacy St – Complainant had already made a report about property being removed when his girlfriend moved out. He requested that I call the female and request to bring the cellphone back. I attempted to call the female but got no answer and no V/M was set up. I advised him to speak to a judge on Monday.
• Traffic Accident – Hwy 78; Walton Truck Stop – Private property accident no injuries. GEARS report completed.
• Disabled Vehicle – W Spring / S Wayne – In reference to a Ford F150 stuck in the roadway. Vehicle removed from roadway
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
• Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St; Walmart – In reference to complainant advising she heard a child screaming very loud from a residence in Woodchase Subdivision, and followed a vehicle that came from the residence to Walmart. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
• Disorderly Conduct – Marable Ln – While assisting another officer on a traffic stop the subject refused to comply with a lawful order and was placed under arrest, he was cited for city ordinance disorderly conduct and sent on his way.
• Loud music – Carwood Dr – Residents agreed to turn down music
• Suicide Threats – Sweetgum Dr – Complainant calling due to his wife making suicidal threats, contact was made with the wife who advised she did not wish to harm herself. Remedies advised.
• Area Check – Towler St – Loganville requested an area check for a missing juvenile. We were given an invalid address and the juvenile was not located.
