MPD Reports: Swatting incident; passenger flees on foot after traffic stop on vehicle; juveniles shoplifting

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 2 – 9, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Theft Report – Davis Street – In reference to a possible cell phone theft committed. Upon arrival, the complainant was unable to be located at the residence, and dispatch was unable to reach the complainant by telephone. The unit then returned to service.
• Burglary – S Broad Street – In reference to complainant stating that her son’s girlfriend had drilled holes into her door locks and taken her belongings. The alleged drilled holes were not observed, and no witnesses or viable evidence were gathered to develop probable cause. See the report for full details.
• Prowler – Belle Mead Road – In reference to an occupant at the listed residence reporting an individual banging on her basement door. Unit’s arrival was delayed due to high call volume, though upon arrival, the curtilage and residence were cleared with negative contact of any suspicious person. All appeared ok.
• Loud Music – Maple Ln: Call cleared due to manpower issues.
• Burglary – E Church St – In reference to complainant, noticing an unknown vehicle parked in her driveway. Complainant also stated the front door was unlocked and contacted emergency services, stating a burglary had taken place. After investigation the vehicle contained a note stating the tire was flat, and the driver had to pull off the road. Complainant also had forgotten that she had left the front door unlocked. Nothing was taken, and no damage was done to the residence. Complainant advised that the vehicle was fine to stay for the time being. All OK.
• Obstruction – 140 Blaine Street, MPD- In reference to a named subject becoming disorderly while he was waiting in the interview room to speak with detectives. He was placed under arrest, charged with obstruction and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
• Theft Report – Skyview – In reference to items taken from the complainant. Report taken.
• EMS Assist – Sorrells St – In reference to subject having a medical episode. Turned over to EMS.
• EMS Assist – S Broad St – In reference to the complainant advising of a male lying near the roadway. Contact was made with subject, who advised that he fell asleep and was intoxicated. Subject’s family arrived on scene and took him home after he was cleared by EMS.
• Suicidal Threats – Meadow Ct- In reference to subject feeling depressed and stating that he has had suicidal thoughts in the past. I asked subject if he wanted to harm himself on this date to which he denied. He told me that his life was hard and that he just wanted someone to talk to. I informed him that I would listen to him. He spoke to me about personal issues he was going through. After letting him vent, I asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital or Advantage, to which he declined. Officers gave him some information on getting help and specifically on the Advantage Clinic in Athens, to which he said he would research tomorrow. I returned back into service shortly after.
• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy – All doors and windows were secured. Negative contact with anyone on location.
• Suspicious Person – N Broad St- Male pulling on doors. Contact made at the old court house with subject. He was provided a ride to his home in Loganville.
• Missing Person – Michael Circle – In reference to subject not being seen since 04/05/2026. Subject was listed as a missing person on GCIC.
• Alarm – GW Carver Dr – All ok location.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 and Hwy 11 – Subject arrested and released on a copy of the citation for driving on a suspended license.
• Accident MLK Blvd – Two vehicles, private property, no injuries. GEARS report.
• Unknown Law – Georgia Ave: DFACs – In reference to employees finding a note from a unknown subject requesting help in a blank application. No additional information could be located for this subject.
• Theft – Tyler St- Reference to the female she lives with is cooking her food. Complainant advised everything is ok, she no longer wants help.
• Wanted Person – E Church St – Female subject arrested for active warrants out of Winder PD. She was arrested, transported to Windstream, and turned over to Winder PD without incident.
• Traffic stop / Arrest – Ash St. & Davis St. – Vehicle stopped for suspended tag, no valid insurance. Proof of valid insurance was provided. The driver was found to have a suspended license as of 06/11/25 for FTA. He was placed under arrest, fingerprinted, and released on a copy of the citation.
• Accident involving a Deer – W Spring at GWA – Single vehicle accident vs a deer. No injuries reported. Taylors retrieved vehicle.
• Alarm – Stone Creek Lane – Cancelled per alarm company.
• Vehicle Crash – Hwy 138 / W Spring St.- Two vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 11 & 83 Connector – In reference to a Nissan truck driving recklessly on Highway 11 towards Monroe city limits. Area checked negative contact.
• Juvenile Complaint – E Washington; Synovus – In reference to two male juveniles selling candy to people. Area checked with negative contact.
• Other Law – S Broad St – In reference to juveniles fighting and adults then arguing after the fact. Other unknown party was gone when officers arrived.
• Shoplifting – S Broad St.; Willfully Guided – In reference to two juvenile subjects concealing merchandise. The juveniles were identified and a Juvenile Complaint form was completed for one. The other was 17 years old and was fingerprinted and released with a citation. Both were criminally trespassed from the store indefinitely.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Cherry Hill & 78W- Ford truck traveling east on the west bound side. Contact made vehicle had mechanical issue subject had tow truck en route.
• Civil Issue – Maple Ln- Reference to subject grabbing her daughter’s arm earlier today. Report Taken.
• Vehicle Lockout – MLK JR BLVD; UPS Store: Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Alarm – S Broad St; A.C.T Auto – All secure on location.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 138 / Michael Etchison Rd – In reference to stopping a Ford Ram 3500 for suspended registration and no insurance. Named subject was found to be driving without a valid license and was taken into custody. He was taken to the Monroe Police Department where he was Fingerprinted and released on copy of his citation.
• Alarm – Stonecreek Bnd – Homeowner on location, all okay.
• Dispute – Aycock Ave – Dispute between two subjects, parties were advised to separate for the night.
• Hit and Run – Pavilion Pkwy; Publix – In reference to a two vehicle accident that occurred on Hwy 138 before one party left the scene. The other vehicle was unable to be identified by the complainant. Minor damage to the Complainant’s vehicle with black paint transfer on the rear end. Report taken
• Theft Report – E. Church St; Chevron – A private investigator calling due to a hidden camera being damaged by juveniles. Report taken.
• Suicide threats – Aycock Ave – Female subject texting a subject making concerning comments, contact was made with her who advised she was fine and did not wish to harm herself.
• Loitering – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – Reference a female that was told to leave the property after causing a scene in the emergency waiting room. I conducted an area check but the female was not located.
• Swatting – Sorrells St – In reference to complainant stating three male subjects wearing masks had broken into his apartment while he was away and could see them on security camera. Upon arrival it was found there is no apartment that the address was given. Contact was made with the owner of an apartment who stated that her Ex, who lives in Birmingham Alabama, was jealous. Contact was made over the phone with the complainant who hung up upon hearing the voice of the home owner.
• Suspicious Activity – Bell Meade Rd – Complainant stated she could hear someone knocking on her front door. MPD has responded to multiple calls at the address for the same thing on multiple occasions. The property was checked all ok.
• Trespassing – W Spring St – McDonald’s – Named female subject on location at McDonald’s after being Criminally Trespassed from the location. She was arrested and transported to WCSO without incident.
• Traffic Stop/Foot Pursuit – E Spring St Valero – Vehicle stopped for window tint and obscured tag. During the traffic stop, the front seat passenger attempted to flee on foot. After a foot pursuit, the subject was tased and taken into custody for multiple charges and warrants out of Clarke County. He was transported to the WC Jail without incident.
• 911 Hang – Up – S Madison Ave; Gwinnett Quality Appliance – Employees on location, all okay.
• Vehicle Crash – N. Broad St. / Pavilion Pkwy. – Two vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report.
• EMS Assist – W Spring St. – In reference to a possible motor vehicle crash versus a pedestrian. It was discovered that this did not occur, and that the subject had fallen and struck their head. They were seen by EMS and refused transport. All okay.
• Suspicious Person – Breedlove Dr – In reference to the complainant believing she was being followed by an unknown Asian male. Report taken.
• MVC – 78 EB & Hwy 11 – Third-party report of a possible motor vehicle crash in which a truck struck a container. The area was checked and no crash was observed.
• Wanted Subject – Alcovy St – Named subject on location with an active Probation Warrant. He was arrested and transported to WCSO jail.
• Juvenile Complaint – N Broad St- Juveniles selling candy. Contact was made subjects were advised of the city ordinance
• Dispute – Wilkins Dr- Third party called in a dispute between a Subject and her fiancé. Contact made with “fiancé” who advised no dispute had occurred and he did not know the subject. All okay on location.
• Animal Complaint – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to a dog left in a parked vehicle. The vehicle’s A/C was running and the window was cracked. The dog was not in distress. Contact was made with the owner who advised her son was supposed to stay with the dog and had left to go to another store. All okay.
• Dispute – E Washington St – In reference to juvenile not listening to his mom. The situation was mediated, all okay.
• Dispute – Breedlove Dr: Ridgeview – In reference to complainant being unhappy with the treatment and discharge of her mother. After speaking with complainant and staff, the mother was readmitted for treatment. Situation mediated.
• Damage to Property – N Broad St; Wow Express Carwash – In reference to subject accidentally damaging the self-serve carwash while leaving. Report taken, Parties advised they would handle it civilly.
• Vehicle Unlock – E. Church St; Chevron- Vehicle unlocked without damage.
• Agency Assist – Sorrells St – In reference to Barrow Co SO requesting the residence be checked, to ensure no one was trying to burglarize the residence. Upon arrival, a subject was located in the front yard of the residence in his wheel chair, not burglarizing the residence. He was found to have an active warrant out of Athens Clarke Co. He was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported to the Walton Co. jail, and TOT the jail staff without incident. He was issued a CT warning from the residence. Report taken.
• Dispute – Towler St – Complainant calling due to a suspect assaulting her, she did not have any marks and did not wish to prosecute. She only advised she called the police so she could leave, subject was not on location.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Sorrells St / Maple Ln – Vehicle is broken down, and not blocking the roadway. The owner has a tow truck en route. All ok.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Masters Dr / Nicholas Ct – Complainant stated a vehicle stopped at the stop sign for 15 minutes. While enroute the complainant stated the vehicle left the location. An area check was conducted but no contact with the vehicle.
• Alarm – W Spring St; Marathon – Business checked on foot; all appeared ok.
• Civil Dispute – S Broad St – Complainant wanted her roommate to leave the residence. She stated that she was supposed to move out today but did not. I explained the eviction process.
