The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 20 – 27, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Suspicious Person – East Church Street (Chevron): Two subjects on location panhandling. One was in violation of his house arrest and ankle monitor, Walton County Sheriff’s Office requested he be transported to the Jail for a new ankle monitor.
Harassment – Davis St. In reference to subject driving past the complainant’s house. Remedies advised.
Traffic Stop – E. Washington & Felker St. In reference to a red Kia SUV stopped for non-functioning tag lights. Further investigation led to the arrest of one subject for Possession of Schedule II Meth, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Giving False Name and DOB. Another subject would later be charged with Giving False Name and DOB and (2) counts of forgery. The second subject also had (2) active warrants out of Walton county.
Warrant Attempt – Bridgeport Ln. In reference to previous traffic stop. Suspect that identified as one person was discovered to be another with active warrants. Upon arrival, it was determined by the residents that he had stolen his father’s vehicle and left the scene. He returned to residence and after a foot chase he was taken into custody. Warrants taken.
Suspicious Vehicle – Bold Springs Road / Hwy 11: In reference to a KIA Forte failure to maintain the lane. Turned left on Hwy 11 traveling North. WCSO was notified.
Suspicious Person – Carwood Drive: In reference to a subject having active warrants out of Monroe Police Department.
Fire Assist – Breedlove Drive at Ridgeview: In reference to two people pulling the fire alarm and escaping from the facility. Both subjects were returned without incident.
Civil Dispute – Kendall Court: in reference to complainant being upset that her dogs followed her child’s father down the street. Complainant was advised that the control of the animals is her responsibility.
Suspicious Vehicle – Tanglewood Dr. In reference to a black male parked at a vacant apartment taking pictures. Male left when he was told the police were called.
Harassment – Wheel House Ln. Kids in the area knocking on doors and trying to fight other kids. Conducted an area check no contact.
Juvenile Complaint -Hammock Park. Juveniles laying drag in the area. Juveniles sent on their way
Dispute – Tall Oaks W. Boyfriend and Girlfriend on location disputing. Parties were gone when officers arrived. Suspicious Vehicle – Felker Park. Two people in a vehicle just talking, they were sent on their way.
Unsecure Premises – God’s Little Attic. Extension ladder on the side of the building and open second floor window. Building secure. All OK.
Suspicious Person – Glen Iris Dr. Reference to juvenile males walking down Glenn Iris. It was determined that the two juveniles were walking to their residence on Baker Street. All ok
Lost / Mislaid Property – N. Broad St. Golden Pantry: In reference being left at this location by a subject who lives in the area, complainant advised that some of her items were left in the vehicle. Report made.
Damage to property – S. Madison Avenue in reference to a vehicle striking the 9/11 Memorial in front of the station and then being abandoned in the Monroe Post Office Parking lot.
Suspicious Person – Atha Street and South Broad on reference to 13 yoa asking for money and wandering in the area. Contact was made with Juvenile and transported back to Bridgeport Lane and turned over to his parents.
Demented Person – Custom Way Subject was observed pouring a yellow liquid substance on two subjects vehicle’s license plate. Subject was Criminal Trespassed from two addresses on Custom Way.
