MWCA – Call for artists, Farm to table fundraiser dinner, High school student winners

The Congressional Art Competition opens Tuesday April 24 and runs through Saturday, April 28.

Saturday’s events:
10 am – 11:30 am – Scavenger Hunt in downtown Monroe
11:30 – Ceremony — Join Congressman Hice as he unveils the winning entry, presents awards & prizes and reveals this year’s People’s Choice Award.
12:15 – 12:30 – Artwork Pick Up

Also on Saturday — the Farm to Table Dinner and our Artful Garden auction, including works donated by our artist-members.  Your donations will support MWCA; plus also F.I.S.H. and the Monroe Farmers Market.

Farm to Table – A Farm to Table Dinner Experience

Enjoy delicious, locally-sourced food, live music and a silent auction on Court Street in beautiful Downtown Monroe.Silver Queen Chef, Wes Kent, will prepare seasonal ingredients primarily sourced from Walton County farmers and Monroe Farmers Market suppliers for a truly amazing meal. A cash bar will available for beer and wine purchases.

This dinner will raise funds to continue special programming at The Monroe Farmers Market. Purchase tickets HERE.

  • Thursdays @ 11am – 2pm:  FREE Let’s Create with Robin.  Bring your own supplies and a sack lunch if you wish. Hang out with other creatives – paint, knit, draw, write – whatever moves you! Robin will provide inspiration, encouragement and a little advice if you want it! Just show up – easy! During April, those who want to will be working on our Artful Garden creations for our auction at the Farm to Table Dinner on April 28.
  • First Saturday: Paint & Pizza Party @ 12 – 2.  Email Donna for more info
  • First Thursday: ALIVE AFTER FIVE Visit us the first Thursday of the month — April – October — Open 11 am – 8 pm!
  • First Thursday: Walton Writers meets at 6:30 — FREE!
  • Special Needs Kids Painting Class: Friday, May 25 @ 4-5:30 pm: Join Robin and Charlie, our therapy dog in this fun painting/mixed media class.

Four weeks of ART camp to choose from … plus Clay Camp and Art Intensive!

  • ages 5 – 8 and 9 – 14, plus ART Intensive (AP level art) for more serious students aged 14 – 18
  • June and July only
  • Camp times: 9 am – noon.  Art Intensive:  9 am – 4 pm.  Monday – Friday
