New ‘Beyond the Gallery’ Art Exhibit at Lil Mill Lofts in Monroe features work of Rebecca Herold

Opening reception will take place from 5 – 7 p.m. May 16

Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts is has partnered with Lil Mill Lofts to highlight some of the work of local artists. In doing so, they are proud to “present the beautiful and emotionally rich work of local artist Rebecca Herold’ that they are giving the community to experience it in person.

“Inspired by the ever-changing skies and seas, Rebecca’s paintings capture movement, emotion, light, and the quiet power of nature,” MWCA noted in sharing her information. “Her work invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and find connection in the shifting colors and moods of the world around us.”

“I am re-energized by the ever changing skies and seas… Their constant evolution of colors and forms are mirrors to our lives and emotions,” Herold said. “Capturing this feeling on canvas is the way I feel alive and at peace.”

The community is invited to drop in at Lil Mill Lofts to “see what she sees — and perhaps find a little peace and inspiration of your own along the way.”

There will be an opening reception for the Exhibit at Lill Mill Lofts from 5 – 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16. Lill Mill Lofts is located at 200 Barrett Street in Monroe.

This exhibit is part of MWCA’s Beyond the Gallery program, which brings the work of local artists into community spaces throughout Monroe and beyond — creating more opportunities for art to be seen, shared, and celebrated.
