Richard Allen, age 78 of Buford, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 11 AM at the Monroe Church of Christ. Preacher Bobby Wood and Preacher Larry Fryer will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Richard was a United States Army Veteran, Remax Agent for many years and Retired from Atlanta Gas Light. He was a member of Monroe Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory & Elizabeth Long Allen; his wife Pat Allen and he is survived by his Children: Tesa & Jeff Betterton of Monroe, Tracie & Mark Griffith of Blue Ridge, GA; Duke & Beth Allen of Buford; Grandchildren: Allie & Dalton Lavender, Jamie & Aaron Groce, Dillon Surman, Evie Griffith, Will Griffith, Savannah & Ian Quinn, D.J. & Madison Allen and Noah Allen; Brother: Buddy Allen of Conyers.
