Gail Wheeler Fraker, age 75, of Monroe, GA passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the Monroe Chapel with Pastor Nathan Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Gail was a graduate of Clarkson High School in DeKalb County. She was the best mother, wife, nanny and friend. She was a shining example of God’s grace, walking daily in faith, prayer and service. Her life was a testimony to the goodness, mercy and faithfulness of our Savior. She inspired all who knew her with her devotion, her gentle spirit and her unwavering trust in God’s plan. She loved the Lord with all her heart and her love flowed freely into her family, church and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marion Fraker; parents, L.D. and Katherine (Etheridge) Wheeler; brothers, Richard Wheeler and Ronald Rakestraw. Gail is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Lance) Carter of Monroe; step-daughter, Angie (Michael) McDowell of GA; brother, Gary Rakestraw of NC; sisters-in-law, Nikki Rakestraw of GA, Ellen (Brad) Mathis of GA; brother-in-law, Doug (Shirley) Fraker of GA; grandchildren, T.J. Sparks of GA, Zachary Sparks of TN, Sabrina Hopkins of GA, Caitlin (Chaz) Layton of GA, Thomas (Amber) Fraker of GA; great-grandchildren, Atley, Keria, Qwyntin, Alexander, Landyn, Liam, Levi, Luna and Corbin; and several nieces and nephews.
