
George was born in Charleston, SC in 1933, the only child to George Fitts, Sr. and Ruby Caines Fitts.
George started his career in banking at the Exchange Bank of St. Augustine, FL, then later worked for The Florida National Bank of Jacksonville, FL where he met and married his wife Llsms of 58 years. His career in finance brought him to Monroe, GA in 1974 with Landmark Financial services, then Georgia Central Bank, and finally Sherwin Williams Company where he worked for 25 years. George enjoyed serving his community and helping customers. He was with Sherwin Williams until his retirement in 2012.
George was a Christian man who loved the Lord, his family, friends, neighbors and his country. He was an ordained deacon; taught Sunday School; sang in the church choir, senior adult choir, and was a charter member of the Men of Praise men’s chorus at First Baptist Church Snellville. He loved old hymns and southern gospel quartet singing.
He is survived by his wife Llsms Loyless Fitts; daughter Laura Fitts Bell and son-in-law Gregory Bell; granddaughter Katherine Harrison Winters and grandson-in-law Cody Winters; and grandson Phillip “Andrew” Harrison. George has one great-granddaughter, Miss Charlotte Diane Winters.
Services will be on Friday, May 3, 2019 at First Baptist Church Snellville, GA. Visitation will be held at 12 pm, followed by a memorial service at 1 pm. Flowers and memorial donations to the First Baptist Snellville Missions and Building Funds may be sent to First Baptist Church Snellville, 2400 Main Street East, Snellville, GA.
