Gwen H. Edwards, age 95 of Loganville, GA, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The family received friends 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Loganville. A Funeral Service followed at 11:00 AM in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hammock and Pastor Derik Lawrence officiating. A Graveside Service was held at 2:30 PM at Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, 2839 State Hwy 11, Mansfield, GA.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Howard E. and Cleo (Patrick) Hays, and husband, Cecil Edwards. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Robert) Hand of Monroe, GA, Terry (Nan) Peters of Ball Ground, GA, Alan (Edith) Peters of McDonald, TN; grandchildren, Christy, Laura, Marcie, Jennifer, Patrick, Drew, Kelly, Michelle, Alana; 16 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Gwen was a member of Victory Baptist Church and worked as a sales associate at Kuppenheimer prior to retiring. She was also the owner/operator of Peters Pure Oil-Union 76 in Social Circle. Gwen was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a cherished friend. Not a day went by that she didn’t speak of how much her children and family meant to her-her family was truly her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She had a gift for storytelling and never missed an opportunity to share a memory or a laugh. Gwen was also a master at crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured for generations. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted grandmother whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impact.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the many healthcare professionals at The Retreat in Loganville, Family Hospice, and Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe for their compassionate care. Additional thanks go to her many friends, fellow residents, members of Victory Baptist Church, and family for their visits, support, and prayers.
