Karen Anne “Chris” Colley, age 76 of Loganville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Landy McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Chris was a Collections Administrator for SED International prior to retiring. She was proud of her family and the family heritage that included Ben Fortson, former Georgia Secretary of State, and Button Gwinnett, the second signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Chris was a loving wife, sister, cousin and friend who was cherished by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell Joseph and Joan Caroline Schmalmaack Weldy. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David Colley of Loganville; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and John Hose of Covington; cousins, Cheryl Ann Schmalmaack Ciccone, Carl and Helen Schmalmaack, Charlie Schmalmaack, Eric and Sondra Schmalmaack, Brian Chlanda and Gary Chlanda, Alice and Bart Carlisle and their extended families; and many friends.
