Lillian Gertrude (Edwards) Witt went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Bible Baptist Church, 1180 Old Monroe Madison Highway, Monroe, GA, with Pastor Lenn Hollingsworth officiating. The family will receive friends 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Lillian was born at home in Coker Creek, Tennessee on January 11, 1935 to Carl Edwards and Arvie Jones Edwards, both of Monroe County, Tennessee. She was the sister to Lenis Edwards Frerichs, Lucile Edwards Dalton and J.W. (Bud) Edwards, all who preceded her in death. She had a loving marriage of 51 years with Norman Witt, who also has preceded her in death. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter, Melinda Witt Thomasson (Jeff Thomasson); a doting grandmother to her granddaughter, Eliza Thomasson; and a loving aunt to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A longtime resident of Loganville, she was a member of Between Baptist Church where she served in many areas, including Sunday School teacher and Special Events Coordinator. She was a faithful and loyal member and friend.
