Obituary and funeral service: Ruby Kathryn Moore Brantly, 98, of Loganville

Ruby Kathryn Moore Brantly, age 98, of Loganville passed away July 5, 2020. Born in Swainsboro, GA, she was the oldest child of Samuel Augustus Moore and Ouida Dell Abney Moore. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Aubrey, Sam, Eloise and Beverly; her husband, Ed; and her youngest son, Kirk. She is survived by son, Ed (Cheryl) of Lilburn; daughter, Brenda of Loganville; and granddaughter, Collin of Atlanta. 

Kathryn grew up in Douglas GA where she graduated from High School. She moved to Atlanta and met Ed and they were married. In her younger years she was a hairdresser and then a mother and housewife. She was a member of Loganville Baptist Church. She loved sewing, cooking and participating in her children’s activities. She was a kind and generous lady, faithful to her church, supportive of her friends and family. She leaves us all a wonderful example of commitment to family and trust in God. 

The family is thankful for the wonderful caregivers that took special care of her over the last years of her life. 

The graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Kathryn Brantly will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Snellville Historical Cemetery, Snellville, GA, Pastor Jim Smith will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Loganville Baptist Church, in memory of Kathryn Moore Brantly.
