Obituary and funeral services: Happy Dan Cofield, 83, of Good Hope

Mr. Happy Dan Cofield, age 83 of Good Hope, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Rev. J.B. Reese will officiate. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Grayson.
Dan was a graduate of Grayson High School and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was owner of Happy Dan’s Used Cars and a member of the American Legion Post 233 in Loganville. Dan loved sports and fishing and help start the Loganville Little League. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nople Mitchell Cofield, and son, Jerome Cofield, his parents, J.R. & Lucy Cofield, and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Kate & Jack Tribble and Gaynelle Ruth & John O. Bramlett. Dan is survived by his Wife: Doris Raines Cofield of Good Hope; Nephew & Niece: Donald & Joyce Bramlett of Monroe; Niece: Penny Tribble of Loganville; Step Daughter: Angela Rose of Monroe; Step Daughter & Son-in-law: Roxanne Nix-Malloy & Jim Malloy of Monroe; Many Loving Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren & Friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 233 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052. 770-466-1544.
