Obituary and funeral services: Larry Lavon Alligood, 80, of Social Circle

Larry Lavon Alligood, age 80, of Social Circle, died on August 19, 2017.

He was born in Meigs, GA on November 2, 1936 to the late Marie Cooper Alligood and the late Arthur Daniel “Bud” Alligood. He was preceded in death by his brothers, the late Rev. Jesse Alligood, the late Vernon Alligood, and the late Johnny Alligood.

He is survived by his sisters, Emily Murphy of Social Circle, Annette Saul of Bishop; and brother, Curtis Alligood of Stone Mountain.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A second visitation will be on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at New Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
