Carolyn grew up in Girard, GA and moved with her beloved husband to Atlanta, GA in 1955. Carolyn was captain of her basketball team in Girard and would tell anyone who listened how her husband walked in the gym while she was playing basketball and she said “I’m going to marry that man” and she did! They spent their retirement years in Loganville, GA and became members of Corinth Christian Church. Carolyn’s great loves were her family, her church, and her home. She was a woman of faith and integrity. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her fried chicken and famous banana pudding. Carolyn cared deeply for her church community and volunteered regularly to prepare Wednesday night suppers for the congregation. Her community could always count on Carolyn to prepare and deliver meals to the sick and elderly. Carolyn found joy in fellowship and friendship. She participated weekly at Friday game night and was always open to a game of Rummy Q. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John (Jack) William Strange; and parents, John Chandler and Cleva Edna (Oliver) Hickman.

Surviving are her children, Patty and Gene Dooley, Judy and Robert Horst, John and Sue Strange, Jackie Strange and Bob Komar; grandchildren, Lee Puckhaber, Will Strange, Rob Horst, Matthew Horst, Taylor Strange; great grandchildren, Rylee Puckhaber, Hayes Jones, Jack, Knox, and Rhett Horst, Alyana, Ava, Ellie, and Clara Strange; numerous family and friends.
