Obituary for Lloyd Raymond Meese, Sr., 94, of Monroe

Lloyd Raymond Meese Sr., age 94, of Monroe GA passed quietly in his sleep to join his wife, Wanda and son David with Jesus on July 17th, 2020. Lloyd and Wanda raised 4 children. Lloyd, Jr. married to Linda, David (deceased) married to Sheri, Sally Heffington, married to Ralph (deceased) and Steve. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren who loved him dearly. He will be missed by other relatives and many friends. 

Mr. Meese was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on June 20th, 1926. He served our country in Germany during World War II. He spent most of his adult life in the ceramic tile business as a business owner and later as a salesman and sales manager. His customers were his friends and he developed lifelong relationships with many of them. Mr. Meese was a member of the Lutheran Church and served in many capacities. 
Mr. Meese was an avid golfer and was proud that as he matured he could “shoot his age.” He also enjoyed racquetball, running and his daily exercise routine. His stationary bike has been around the world…maybe twice. 
He was known by all for his encouraging attitude bright smile and contagious laughter. He made friends quickly and easily and never forgot a face or a name. His stories and adventures are legendary. He is also known for the little black book he carried that contained punch lines to hundreds of his favorite jokes. 
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 8th at 2:00 pm at Living Grace Lutheran Church, 1812 Cooledge Road, Tucker GA 30084, with the Reverend Dr. David E. Harding officiating. Committal Service for Mr. Meese’s cremated remains will be held following the Memorial Service on the grounds of the Church next to Wanda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abbey Hospice 215 Azalea Ct. Social Circle, GA 30025 in memory of Lloyd R. Meese, Sr.
