
With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jasodia
Sukhai, affectionately known as “Iris,” who passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in
Loganville, Georgia, at the age of 85.
Born on July 7, 1940, in Overwinning, Guyana, to Redi and Ramwatti, Iris grew into a strong,
resilient, and hardworking woman whose life was defined by faith, sacrifice, and devotion
to family.
At the age of 16, she married Basil Sukhai. Together, they built a life in Guyana, living in
Overwinning, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Crabwood Creek, before Iris immigrated to the
United States in 2012. She was a devoted Hindu, and her greatest joy was her family, whom
she worked tirelessly to provide for.
Iris will be remembered for her unwavering faith, remarkable strength, generous spirit, and
the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she
touched and the generations she helped build.
She was the beloved wife of the late Basil.
She was the sister of the late Ruby, the late Sampaul, Bab Mussie, the late Hiralal, the late
Jilal, the late Pooji, Devika, Bo, the late Indal, the late Edith, and the late Odit.
She was the mother of the late Suklal, the late Indra, the late Kamal, Lenko, Dado Bai,
Vanessa, Jass, TunTun, Pero, Suraj, Paps, Jigman, Ramo, the late Lily, and the late Gundoo.
She was the grandmother of Junior, Shavani, Raj, Geetanglie, Joshua, Denny, Ramchand,
Gomatie, Joy, Sarwan, the late Sis, Buddo, Bai, Bun, Justin, Alisha, Melisha, Gerisha,
Avaniash, Akash, Manisha, Sanjay, Vijay, Shan, Rawl, Luke, Josh, Vickey, Tullah, Rona, Kenny,
Sharmilla, Dolly, Jarge, Suriyah, Sophia, Sohail, Esho, and Valie.
She was the great-grandmother of Joel, Jennifer, Jaden, Samara, Joshua, the late Vinode,
Tiggy, Amaya, Anaya, Lezai, Emily, Bai, Amy, Kailey, Jermy, Anna, Hiliary, Tori, Tina, Lakein,
Lucas, Reyad, Shreya, Keran, Liya, Reay, Vanessa, Ayssia, Rayan, Yogeta, Avishti, Dhanveer,
Yovindra, Ishaan, Nick, and Ellie.
She was the great-great-grandmother of Sofia and Zayde.
She was the mother-in-law of the late PC, Nanda, Hement, Branga, Clifton, Rehana, Fazia,
Gerald, Daro, MeaMea, Anita, and Waheeda.
Jasodia will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, relatives, friends, and all
of her descendants whose lives she helped shape.

The family will receive friends 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. A reception will follow the viewing at the home of Gerald and Vanessa Seepaul, 371 Old Loganville Road, Loganville, GA 30052.
A Funeral Service followed by cremation was held 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. A reception followed the funeral service at the home of Gerald and Vanessa Seepaul, 371 Old Loganville Road, Loganville, GA 30052.
