Steve Atha, age 66 of Loganville, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. A Memorial Service was held at 12:30 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating. The family received friends 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM prior to the service.
Steve was a devoted family man who loved his children and grandchildren. He was very involved in his community, proudly serving as a firefighter and EMT for over 20 years. Steve also worked with his father, J.W. and his brother Scott at Atha’s Fina Station for over 30 years as a mechanic.
He enjoyed being outside, cutting the grass and being in his yard. Steve especially enjoyed the beach. He was a big fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves, and Dale Earnhardt.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Jacqueline Joyce (Ray) Atha. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jan Atha of Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon (Madeline) Atha of Ringgold; daughter and son-in-law, Heather (Stephen) Groover of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Brooks Atha, Mason Groover, Chandler Groover, and Amelia Groover; brother and sister-in-law, Scott (Karen) Atha of Carnesville; numerous family and friends.
