GWINNETT COUNTY GA (Sept. 5, 2026) – Gwinnett County Police Department reports that West Precinct officers responded respond Friday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train in the area of 7066 Buford Highway, unincorporated Atlanta.
“Upon arrival, officers found the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office. There were no designated crossing points near the location where the pedestrian was found. Additionally, there were no reported injuries to the train operator,” GCPD reported in a press release.
GCPD said that at this time, the cause of the accident is unknown and the investigation continues. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
