Piedmont Walton Welcomes New Primary Care Providers

Monroe, Ga. (Dec. 24, 2024) – Aligning with its mission to provide quality care closer to home, Piedmont Walton has recently welcomed new primary care doctors to their medical staff.  

Primary care providers (PCPs), including doctors and advanced practice practitioners, are important in helping manage the overall health of patients. PCPs have a wide range of responsibilities including regular checkups, developing plans to help to prevent diseases, coordinating care, and diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries and other health conditions.

“We are excited to be able to expand access to quality care as we know patients in some areas of the state wait upwards of a month for an appointment to be seen by a primary care doctor,” said Michelle Fisher, Piedmont’s President of Primary Care & Retail Services. “These new providers are here to help our community take charge and stay ahead of their health.”

Through Piedmont’s primary care services, patients have access to online scheduling for same or next-day appointments as well as virtual visit options with our exceptional care teams. 

Below are two new primary care providers who’ve recently joined the Piedmont Walton medical staff roster:

Mutiat Agbasionwe, M.D., Piedmont Physicians of Monroe – Monroe, Ga.

Dr. Agbasionwe earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and completed her residency at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. 

Advija Ibrisimovic, M.D., Piedmont Physicians of Monroe- Monroe, Ga.

Dr. Ibrisimovic earned her medical degree from Univerzitetska 1 in Bosnia and Herzegovina and completed her residency at Piedmont Athens Regional. She is board certified in Internal Medicine

Drs. Enikanolaiye and Ibrisimovic are passionate about preventative care and empowering patients to make the best decisions for their health. Both are accepting new patients and accept most insurance plans.
