Pottery classes in the new pottery studio begin in May at Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts

Classes will launch in May and June at the new Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts pottery studio. Pottery classes for (almost) all ages will begin for adults on Saturday, May 2 and run until June 20, 2026. These classes are with Jen Schwartz. Read her bio HERE

This is an 8-week course on Saturdays from 10 – 12:30 Beginner & Intermediate Wheel Throwing. The cost for the course is $190 plus $45 for supplies.

Start your weekend off by being creative in the Saturday morning class, which will offer an enjoyable and relaxing time learning the fundamentals of functional pottery. In this 8 week class you will cover wheel throwing, trimming, altering and glazing clay to be a functional work that you take home and use!

Skill level: Beginner and Intermediate

Ages: 16 to adult

Max class size: 8

• 25 lb clay, purchased from MWCA (includes studio glazes and firing fees) $45
• A small (approx one gallon) bucket
• Basic pottery tool kit – available on Amazon
• A small towel
