Ribbon cutting opens the festivities at 5:30 p.m.
Tim Wallace, leisure specialist for Walton County Parks and Recreation, said the county is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Walnut Grove Park on Dec. 22.
“The ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will be Christmas themed and have hot chocolate, cookies, cake, music and lights just to name of few things that will be offered to people in the community who come out and join us. Also, Santa will be there and there will be a sleigh/hay ride,” Wallace said.
Everyone can tour the park and the new recreational facility which will be open to the public on January 5th.
