We not yet be half way through the summer vacation, but the new school year will soon be coming up fast and students will need to begin back to school preparations and Shepherd’s House Community Center in Monroe is already making preparations to help where it can. The organization has been doing this since 2013 with it getting bigger and better each year since.
Families are invited to mark their calendars for the Back 2 School Book Bag Giveaway on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shepherd’s House Community Center, located at 710 Harris Street in Monroe.
The event will provide free book bags and school supplies for youth in grades K-12 while supplies last. Community organizations and local partners are joining together to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.
