Storage building, truck, boat and trailer allegedly damaged by burn barrel

Officials believe it was likely an out of control fire in a burn barrel in Loganville Sunday that ended up damaging a vehicle, a boat, a trailer and a storage building.

According to Robbie Schwartz, spokesperson for the City of Loganville, crews from Loganville Fire Department were dispatched at 2:31 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017, to a reported explosion at 100 Holly Court in Loganville.

“On arrival crews found that the woods adjacent to the residence were on fire. Also, a storage building was fully engulfed in flames. During the fire, a dodge pickup truck, a bass boat, and a landscape trailer were damaged by the fire,” Swartz said. “The fire was extinguished with no further incident. The fire is believed to have started from a burn barrel that was being used in the yard. ”

Schwartz said that no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
