This Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, Daylight Saving Time ends. At 2 a.m. (or before you turn in for the night on Saturday), you get to turn the clock back 1 hour. Sunrise and sunset will be an hour earlier on Nov. 5, so when you get up in the morning, it will be lighter. Those long afternoons, however, will be an hour shorter.
According to TimeandDate, this has been the standard in most of the USA since 1918. Most of Arizona and Hawaii, however, still do not observe Daylight Saving Time.
Daylight Saving Time begins again on March 11, 2018.
