Update: Motorcyclist injured in April 2018 in Walton County passes away


Jason Terrel Dotson passed away on Jan. 8, 2019, almost 9 months after being critically injured in this accident. His funeral service is at 3 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2019 in the chapel at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1 – 3 p.m. on the same day.


A 43-year-old Monroe man received critical injuries Sunday when he lost control of his 2015 Harley Davidson while negotiating a curve while traveling south on Hickory Grove Church Road in Walton County. Georgia State Patrol Trooper First Class Cal Barton said Jason Dotson was ejected when the bike wrecked. He was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital.

“His helmet came off when he was ejected,” Barton said. At this time there is no update on his condition.

Initial Story

Officials with Walton County Fire Rescue confirmed that the driver of a motorcycle was injured late Sunday afternoon following a single vehicle accident on Hickory Grove Church Road in Walton County. Battalion Chief Craig League said the driver was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.
