Remely will Join Local Student Leaders to Compete for the Title of Atlanta’s 2019 Student of the Year

SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA January 31, 2019 – Amy Remely of Social Circle has been nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2019 Students of the Year campaign, an exciting leadership development and philanthropy program in which high school students participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS and have the opportunity to win college scholarships.
Amy Remely of Walnut Grove High School is one of an elite group of student leaders who will compete for the title of Atlanta’s Student(s) of the Year. Competing for this title is an honor surrounded with a great deal of fanfare, however, the most important reason candidates participate is to find cures for blood cancers and ensure that patients have access to lifesaving treatments. This is very dear to Amy’s heart because cancer has taken many family members from her in the 15 years Amy has been alive. Amy wants to help with research to find a cure for this heartbreaking disease.
As a candidate, Remely will raise funds for a world without blood cancers between January 31 and March 23, 2019. Every dollar raised counts as one vote. The candidates/teams who raise the most money at the end of the seven-week competition will be awarded the title Atlanta’s 2018 Student(s) of the Year at a Grand Finale Gala on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the Georgia Aquarium.
There are many ways you can support Remely in her quest for a world without blood cancers. Become a member of her campaign team, sponsor the Grand Finale on March 3rd, or simply pledge to make a donation during her campaign (https://events.lls.org/ga/AtlantaSOY19/aremely).
