Walton County BOC to vote on $52 million budget, consider changes to rental agreements

The Walton County Board of Commissioners is expected to vote on a $52 Million Budget on Tuesday, a move that would pave the way for raises for county employees. The County also will be considering a resolution that would amend the rules related to allowing county employees from renting county facilities for price, profit-generating events. This comes on the heals of a year of complaints from citizens on the private use of the ball fields by Walton County Parks and Recreation employees Brad Huff and Jody Johnson through their company, JB Athletics. Huff and Johnson have subsequently filed a lawsuit against the citizens involved in the complaints.

The Walton County Board of Commission will have its regular meeting for June 2017 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the Historic Courthouse in downtown Monroe. The public is invited to attend. The actionable items on the agenda follow.
