Some members of the public were concerned when they saw a crowd of emergency vehicles and firefighters on property on Highway 81 near Corinth Church in Loganville on Friday, but it turned out to be a drill to give some local interns an opportunity to learn about air rescue methods.
“Walton County Fire Rescue interns got a visit from Air Evac, an air ambulance service provider,” said Capt. Jeff Allen, the training officer for WCFR. “The budding firefighters learned about preparing landing areas, called helispots, for the helicopters, how to load a patient and a general overview of how the crew functions during a flight. Members of WCFR District 2 also attended.”
