Walton County Parks & Rec Spring Ball Opening Day Scheduled for March 10

Ten thousand visitors expected at Criswell, West Walton, South Walton, and Felker Parks 

The Walton County Parks and Recreation Department’s Spring Ball Opening Day will take place Saturday, March 10, 2018.

Fifty-four baseball and softball games will be played at Criswell, West Walton, and South Walton Parks. Games start at 10 a.m. and will run until late afternoon. In addition, seventeen soccer games are scheduled to be played at Felker Park.

The Walton County BBQ Festival will also take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Opening Day at Criswell Park. This free event will feature food vendors and family activities.

“Recreation opening day in the spring is the most exciting day at the park,” says Jody Johnson, Director of Parks and Recreation. “It creates lifelong memories for every child that participates. It is not the wins and losses that matter or that are remembered, but the opportunity that we give each child to be cheered for and encouraged.”

An estimated 10,000 park visitors are expected across the four parks.
