Walton County Rec Department extends suspension of activities and closure of parks and centers

press release from the Walton County Government

As a precautionary response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Walton County Recreation Department will be extending the suspension of all organized recreational activities through April 12, 2020. All community centers, including Criswell Park, Felker Park, Meridian Park, Nowell Gym, and South Walton Park, will also remain closed during this time. We will keep the public abreast of any changes in the schedule and update everyone as the situation changes.

Keeping our athletes, parents, and employees safe and limiting the exposure to COVID-19 remains our top priority. We will continue to reevaluate the situation and continue to take precautions as recommended by the Georgia Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. We encourage everyone to practice preventative measures and visit the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding COVID-1

Also, the Walton County Extension Office will be closed to the public. Please contact the Extension Office with questions by phone (770-267-1324) or email (uge1297@uga.edu). As of now, we are still offering water, soil, and forage samples but you will need to call to schedule an appointment to drop off your lab sample. Please visit our website for more information. https://extension.uga.edu/county-offices/walton.html
