Walton County government has issued a warning to residents that scammers are pretending to be Walton County Planning and sending fake invoices to people applying for building or zoning permits.
These emails may come from addresses like “planning-waltoncountyga@usa.com”, which is NOT the Walton County Planning office.. Official Walton County, Ga. emails always end in @co.walton.ga.us.
If you get an email asking for a wire transfer, a gift card, or anything that sounds fishy… trust your instincts and don’t pay it.
When in doubt, call the real humans in the Planning Department at 770-267-1485 to verify.
