WCSO Alerts: Catalytic converter theft, hit and run and several arrests result from traffic stops

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Friday, Feb. 26 – Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Friday, Feb. 26, 2021

ZONE 1

Damage to Property– Deputies took a report at a residence on Riverbend Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual in a silver in color Chrysler passenger vehicle driving on the complainant’s property and damaged their fence and yard between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

ZONE 4

Theft Report­- Deputies took a report at a residence on Emmett Doster Road in reference to complainant reporting stolen catalytic converters from their vehicle between the hours of 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24 and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Arrest– A 52-year-old Monroe man and a 36-year-old Monroe female were arrested in the area of East Marable Street and Roosevelt Street following a traffic stop.
– The male was arrested for Possession of Pills not in the Original Container, Possession of Schedule 2 Narcotics, and Possession of Schedule 3 Narcotics following a traffic stop.
– The female was arrested for Possession of Pills not in the Original Container, Possession of Schedule 2 Narcotics, Possession of Schedule 3 Narcotics, and Giving False Name.

ZONE 5

Entering Auto– Deputies took a report at a residence on Autumn Trace in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entering their vehicle around 9:15 p.m. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Deputies thoroughly searched the area, but no contact was made.

ZONE 6

Arrest– A 39-year-old Decatur man was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and Walnut Grove Parkway on an outstanding warrant out of Acworth Police Department following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Damage to Property– Deputies took a report at a residence on Greenhill Way in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual smearing paint on their front door between the hours of 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021

ZONE 3

Arrest– A 33-year-old and a 31-year-old man, both of Athens, were arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Jacks Creek Road following a traffic stop.
– The 33-year-old was arrested for Open Container, Possession of Schedule 1 Drugs, and a Tag Light Violation.
– The 31-year-old was arrested for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Concealed Carry Permit Violation.

ZONE 4

Arrest– A 61-year-old Monroe woman was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Cheek Road for Driving Under the Influence following a suspicious vehicle report.

Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021

ZONE 1

Citation– Motorists were cited in the area of Highway 138 and Camp Lake Road for Speeding and Possession of Marijuana less than One Ounce following a traffic stop.

Theft Report– Deputies took a report the intersection of Highway 138 and Youth Jersey Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took the complainant’s license plate from a vehicle they had for sale sometime between Sunday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 28.

ZONE 3  

Arrest– A 40-year-old Loganville man was arrested at Good Hope General Store for Possession of Schedule 2 Drugs and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a suspicious vehicle call.

ZONE 5

Identity Theft­– Deputies took a report at a residence on Brookside Drive in reference to complainant reporting that they had received a 1099-G for unemployment that they did not apply for.

ZONE 6

Hit and Run– Deputies responded to a hit and run accident in the area of Highway 78 and New Hope Church Road around 5:15pm. The accident was handled by Georgia State Patrol.
