WCSO Alerts: Porsche stolen and prowler turns out to be an armadillo

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for Thursday, June 1, 2017. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.


Firearm: Deputies responded to a residence on Wood Chase Drive in Woodchase Subdivision in reference to hearing possible gun shots. Deputies thoroughly checked area, no contact. Everything appeared to be okay.

Suspicious Vehicle: Deputies responded to the area of Highway 138 and Etchison Road in reference to complaints of an unknown motorist in a grey Dodge truck. Complainant reported a female passenger appeared to need help. Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Monroe Police Department thoroughly checked the area, no contact. Everything appeared to be okay.

Arrest: David Rivers was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Cherry Hill Road for outstanding Child Support warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

Arrest: Sheila Britt was arrested at a residence on Edmondson Road for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Related Objects.

Stolen Vehicle: Deputies took a report at a business on Highway 20 in reference to an unknown individual taking complainant’s 2010 Porsche.


Vehicle Accident: Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Miler Bottom Road. No injuries reported. Walton County Sheriff Office worked the scene of the accident.

Prowler: Deputies responded to a report at a residence on Greenhill Way in reference to an unknown individual running through the complainant’s backyard. Deputies thoroughly checked the area. An armadillo was located in the backyard, everything was okay.
