You’re Invited to the inaugural Loganville Community Health Fair

Volunteers are sought to help on the day of the event

The community is invited to come together for a day focused on healthier living at the inaugural Loganville Community Health Fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Loganville First United Methodist Church.

This first event stems from a group of residents who were inspired after attending a health fair in neighboring Gwinnett County last summer. Former mayor Dan Curry was tasked with moving the idea forward.

“Loganville Lions Club President Treoline Haley and Club Treasurer Eric Salmon attended a Health Fair in Gwinnett County last summer. They had the idea. They pitched the idea to the club. Collectively as a club the idea took root. I was asked to move it forward. So my first call went to Cari Bailey at Piedmont Walton Hospital. From there I called my buddies in all the civic clubs in Loganville, including Loganville United Methodist Church, Walton TRIAD, the Partnership of Walton County just to name a few,” Curry said. “As we began to meet there seemed to be a true interest in having a Loganville Community Health Fair.”

Stakeholders came together to plan the event, which organizers hope will become such a benefit to the community that it will grow in size and impact in the coming years.

“The future of this event is exciting. If we produce a quality event, if it is well received by the community, we talk about officially forming a Loganville Community Health Fair corporation. hosting this event annually – perhaps periodically hosting a Saturday or evening seminar on such topics as dementia, other forms of mental illness, substance abuse, poverty, heart disease, stress, budgeting and more. I think it is our responsibility to help promote a healthier community,” Curry said. “I want to give a big thank you to Ben Garrett and the Walton County Health Care Foundation for their support and encouragement.”

The Walton County Health Care Foundation stepped up as the financial sponsor, with the Loganville Rotary, Loganville Lions Club, Loganville Legacy Lions Club, Loganville Woman’s Club, Loganville First United Methodist Church, Walton County TRIAD, American Legion Post 233, Piedmont Walton Hospital, the Partnership of Walton County, the Myles Singleton Foundation and the City of Loganville serving as community advocates for the Loganville Community Health & Wellness Fair.

“By conducting a family friendly environment we hope to entertain the kids, while educating the parents and grandparents on all the latest in health care. We hope to have 50 health care professionals on hand telling their stories. We have several hour-long breakout sessions with the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross and others. It’s my understanding we will have hair cuts and diapers,” Curry said.

A community health fair provides lasting benefits by connecting residents with the resources they need to live healthier lives. By bringing together local healthcare providers, non-profits and wellness organizations in one place, the event improves access to care, promotes preventive health and increases awareness of available services. Attendees gain valuable information on early screenings and direct connections to ongoing support, helping reduce long-term health risks and healthcare costs. Beyond individual wellness, the fair strengthens partnerships among community organizations and fosters a more informed, connected and resilient Loganville.

This free, family-friendly event will feature more than 50 health and wellness booths offering valuable information, education and connections to local care and community resources. Attendees can meet with healthcare providers, non-profit organizations and community partners, attend guest speaker sessions and learn practical ways to improve their physical, mental and overall well-being.

Families are encouraged to bring the kids to enjoy free ice cream and children’s activities, along with giveaways and helpful wellness materials. Free haircuts will also be available while supplies last.

The Loganville Community Health Fair is a great opportunity to learn about local services, ask questions, discover new resources and take simple steps toward a healthier future. Loganville First United Methodist Church is located at 221 Main Street in Loganville.

There also is a need for volunteers on the day of the event. If you have a civic organization that is looking for ways to contribute to the community, you are encouraged to contact the organizers to offer your services.
