Monroe PD Report: Armed robbery attempt while couple unpacking groceries, $5000 stolen from American Legion

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between June 9 – 15, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic problem, South Madison Avenue, married couple disputing over property. Husband allowed wife to gather guns, and a vehicle.  Wife left residence to stay with her mother.
  • Harassment, New Lacy Street, Complainant stated female subject was driving by her house several times a day in reference to a dispute that happened on an earlier date.  Advised of the Temporary Protection Order process.
  • Warrant, Towler Street, complainant called, and asked officers to patrol the area for a female subject that had a warrant out of Newton County.  This was the last known address the business had for subject.  Walton County Dispatch checked the information by name and DOB, and advised subject did not have a warrant.
  • Threats, Court Street, male subject put an envelope in the mailbox stating that “he was the owner and the person they tried to kill.”
  • Damage to Property, Alcovy St., resident found melted ice cream in their mail box, and on their vehicle.  They suspect juveniles in the area are responsible.  Report requested.
  • Warrant from earlier call, Towler St., In reference to earlier attempt on female subject.  Walton County Dispatch advised there was an error, and the warrant is valid.  The address given does not exist.  Negative contact.
  • Fraud report discussed at MPD, complainant advised someone stole her credit card, and used it in Atlanta totaling over $2,000.00.  Incident occurred on Walton Road in the county.  Referred to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Harassment, Armistead Circle, complainant advised her niece is harassing her via text and Facebook.  Advised complainant to tell niece to stop all communications with her.
  • Officer’s called to Sporty Lane, resident wanted to know if the police were at her house this morning.  Related to an incident last date.
  • Child abuse at WCSO, 17-year-old advised that his Mother assaulted him at 0900 this date.  The mother stated her son got upset, and left when she asked him to clean up the house.  She denied any physical abuse. The son did not have any marks on him showing evidence of physical abuse.  The mother was advised to call 911 if her son does not return home.
  • Suspicious Person, Michael Etchison Road and McDaniel St., complainant advised he saw a W/M subject wearing a grey shirt, and blue jeans matching the description of the escaped subject out of Putnam County.  Made contact with subject walking around picking up cigarettes.  All ok.
  • Harassment report taken at South Broad Street – Monroe Police Department.  Complainant stated a named male subject was harassing her via text, advised of remedies and report taken.
  • Disturbing the Peace, Nelson Street.  Blue Pickup truck was arguing with people next door.  Upon arrival found Christopher Pittman sitting in the passenger seat.  Pittman had active warrants out of Loganville for failure to appear.  Pittman was arrested and turned over to Walton County Jail
  • Disturbing the Peace, West Creek Circle in reference to males on dirt bikes consistently riding up and down the roadway, speeding and reckless.  Met with two citizens.  Advised they have seen black males on dirt bikes in the area tailgating vehicles and being reckless around children riding their bikes in the street.  They have also been riding the bikes through their yard.  One dirt bike was red and white while another was all yellow.  They did not know the males on the bikes.  Requested extra patrol of the area.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Community Court – The Boys and Girls Club.  Mother on location stating her son was bullied today at the club and it was captured on video.  Four juveniles were seen slapping her son in the head and pulling down his pants.  Juvenile complaint filed on the boys.
  • Harassment, West Tall Oaks Dr., complainant stated two female subjects have been texting him incessantly over him threatening to contact DFACS over their drug usage and custody of his granddaughter.
  • Drugs, GW Carver Dr., reference to a James Fewquay and Isika Camp on location smoking marijuana in front of their 4-year-old child and possibly in a dispute. James also had active warrants out of Monroe PD and WCSO. Made contact with Isika Camp whom stated James was not on location. When the front door was initially opened officers immediately smelled an odor of drugs inside the residence. Isika initially would not give consent to search residence for James. FIT was contacted and responded. Isika gave consent to FIT to search residence for drugs. Officer located James hiding in the cupboard under the sink. Marijuana less than one ounce was also located inside the residence by FIT. James was arrested for MPD probation warrant, FV Battery Warrant, Cruelty to Children Warrant, and possession of marijuana. Isika Camp was arrested for possession of marijuana by officer. Both were transported to WCSO jail.
  • Discharging Firearms in the area of Boulevard, made contact with complainant who stated she herd 6-10 shots towards Johns supermarket, requested a report.
  • Domestic, Sporty Lane. Two subjects on location arguing over a baby crying, parties separated for the night.
  • Suspicious Person, East Tall Oaks in reference to unknown persons knocking on complainant’s door. Checked the area negative contact.
  • Robbery, Maple Way. Made contact with male and female complainants whom advised two young black males dressed in all black wearing masks and had guns. Female advised both males came from behind the residence and headed straight towards male who was getting groceries out of the vehicle. Male stated the males told him to give them all he had. Female ran towards the males whom had male at gun point. One of the males pointed their gun at her. She yelled out for someone to contact the police. She said when the males heard her yell police they took running in two different directions. No suspects or leads at this time. CID was notified.
  • Assist Citizen, North Broad St., Scoops in reference to employees wanting to be escorted to their vehicles.
  • Suspicious Person, East Church Street – Jack Peter’s store. Female subject on location stating the Alpharetta police department is stalking her, I advised her to go home for the rest of the night.
  • Dispute, Walker Drive.  Met with complainant who stated a female subject was knocking on her door trying to get her to come fight her, the female subject subject was gone on arrival, and complainant was advised to call if they come back.
  • Traffic Stop, Felker St., driver stopped for a brake light out and one of the juvenile passengers had a bag of weed on him, juvenile complaint to be completed by officer.
  • Robbery, North Broad Street – Golden Pantry.  Caller advised two black males and two black females on location and armed robbery in progress.  Officers arrived seconds later made contact with the subjects and ID ad four subjects.  I reviewed security footage and spoke with cashier they all denied any suspicious activity and / or robbery.
  • Welfare check, South Broad St. Ref to 2-year-old walking in diaper on sidewalk. Inattentive mother found asleep in home. DFACS responded.
  • Fraud report taken at South Broad St., MPD. Complainant reports several credit card transactions in the Marietta area and Kennesaw.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle/arrest, Charlotte Rowell at Highway 78 light. Rashard Blackwell arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Released On Copy of citation after fingerprint.
  • Theft report, Alcovy St., American Legion. Over $5,000 taken sometime between Saturday and Monday. CID responded and attempted to lift prints from safe.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr. complainant reports an unruly juvenile. All ok.
  • Follow up, East Church St., complainant had questions regarding female subject who she claims is harassing her. Advised of remedies.
  • Domestic problem, Report only taken at South Broad St., MPD. Complainant requested escort to Forrest Ln to pick up her son. She is barred via TPO to have contact with female and her children. Negative contact with anyone at Forrest Ln.
  • Request area check West Spring St., Wendy’s. Ref to BOLO for the stolen vehicle, white Ford F150. No vehicles matching description on location.
  • Fraud report taken at South Broad St., MPD. Complainant reporting her Pinnacle Bank MasterCard used in Powder Springs..
  • Welfare check in the area of South Broad St. near Church St. Ref to man walking with brief case that had a brace on his arm. Made contact with male subject who advised he was sightseeing and looking for a hotel for the night.
  • Request area check West Spring St., Walmart. Ref to vehicle involved in the prison break. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Hit and run, private property, Ridge Rd. (Skyline Trace Apts.) manager advised black Lexus sedan struck his parked vehicle and then fled scene. Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle in wood line near White Oak Dr. and Pineview. Contact made w/ beige Buick occupied by male and female subjects who were engaging sexual relations in the rear seat. Subjects advised of Loitering and Prowling charge and sent on way.
  • Suspicious person, Marable St. in regards to male subject knocking on doors. Contact made and subject advised he and girlfriend got into verbal dispute and he was leaving for the night. All ok.
  • Gunshot wound, Pine Park St. in parking area in regards to B/M and B/F shot and injured. Units arrived on scene and tended to injured subjects and additional units called for crowd control and preserving crime scene. B/M had gunshot wound through neck and B/F had gunshot wound through left leg. B/M was stabilized and transported by EMS to Life Flight and then flown to Grady for treatment. B/F was stabilized and transported to Athens Regional for treatment. CID and officer’s processed scene and spoke w/ witnesses. FIT assisted with evidence collection, crowd control, and securing scene. Monroe Fire stayed on scene to provide lighting for crime scene. Scene was processed and vehicles with bullet damage taken for processing. Investigation is active and ongoing.
  • Suspicious person, complainant stated husband walking in roadway and refusing to leave apartment. Devontae Chandler also has active 10-29’s out of MPD, WCSO, and Gwinnett County SO. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Warrants from above call, Plaza Dr. Demonte Chandler arrested for 2 Gwinnett SO warrants and one Dekalb warrant and MPD FTA warrant.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle/arrest South Madison Ave. Donna Albritton arrested for DWLS and ROC after fingerprinting.
  • EMS assist, West Spring St., Wal-Mart. Ref to w/f unconscious on the back of a vehicle. Female sleeping on top of car. Refused medical treatment, advised she was waiting for a deputy to ask a question about a phone, sent on her way.
  • Trespassing, Baker St. Brandon Barrett arrested for trespass and his girlfriend Daina Hairwell arrested for DOC after refusing to provide name and DOB.
  • Burglary in progress, Nelson St. Homeowner on location found male subject in shed squatting on location. Male subject barred from property.
  • Welfare check, West Vine St. Conestoga MHP. Daughter was advised to call her mother, all ok.
  • Damage to property, South Madison Ave., Walton County Health Dept. Complainant advised someone in a black truck struck her vehicle and left the scene.
  • Suspicious vehicle X 2, Great Oaks Dr., Walton Family Medicine. Black suburban and passenger car in parking lot smoking 38D (drugs). Employee advised the left scene when they were confronted.
  • Drugs, South Broad St. Yellow mustang in the parking lot smoking 38D. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Theft report, Nowell St., complainant had phone stolen at some point during the night. Phone tracked with find my phone app to the sell box at Wal-Mart. Made contact with selling company and needed report to get phone back.
  • Suicide threats, South Midland Ave., Exceptional Community Services. Male subject on location wanting to hurt himself due to a break up. Subject left location with medical staff due to doctor and behavior health specialist on site working with him.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Wal-Mart. Jordon Holmes arrested for shoplifting $260.00 worth of merchandise and attempting to leave through the garden center without paying.
  • Request to report to West Spring St., McDonalds. Complainant reports handicap parking blocked off by business. Blocked off due to delivery truck arrival, all ok.
  • Welfare check, West Spring St., Charlies Restaurant. Ref to K9 locked in vehicle. K9 checked ok and had a water dish in the vehicle.
  • Domestic problem, Atha St. in regards to complainant stated male subject arrived on location mad and yelling and she wanted him to leave. Male subject was GOA upon arrival. Civil remedies advised to complainant, all ok.
  • Follow up, Pine Park St., anonymous caller advised there were shell casings still on location from shooting last date. Shell casings collected and secured into evidence.
  • Domestic problem, W. Fambrough St. Verbal dispute between mother and father over child custody due to getting divorced but still married. Advised of civil remedies and no signs of violence.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd., between complainant and male subject. Complainant stated her and subject only dated and he has been acting strange around her and she wanted him to leave. Contact made w/ subject and he was sent on his way. No signs of violence, all ok
  • Warrant attempt, Wheelhouse Ln. in regards to LPR hit. Contact made w/ subject and warrant confirmed through Loganville PD. Advised it was OK to let her go for now.
  • Missing person, Hubbard St. father stated he hasn’t been able to contact his 28 year old daughter since this morning. Advised not missing person until after 24 hours. Daughter does not have any mental health issues.
  • Runaway juvenile, Mill St. in regards to 14 YOA female running away from home. Juvenile was placed on GCIC. **0043 hrs, Juvenile returned home and removed from GCIC, report taken
  • Shots fired, Pine Park St., in regards to 3 shots fired at residence. 2 shots entered through bedroom window and 1 shot struck brick siding not penetrating residence. The shell casings and bullets were collected on scene. No injuries from the bullets that entered the residence. CID spoke with family and witnesses. Incident is possible retaliation from shooting previous date. Family was relocated to a safe location. Suspects are named. Contact made w/ one subject on Shamrock Dr. and he was brought in for interview. Contact made w/ another subject on Davis St. and brought in for interview. Investigation is still pending at this time. See report for further details.
  • Civil, S. Madison Ave., complainant wanting to retrieve property from residence. No lights on at residence and complainant advised to attempt during daytime hours. Civil remedies were also explained, all ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle across from Pot Luck Café. Contact made w/ government vehicle in parking lot unoccupied. Vehicle was running, vehicle turned off and secured. All ok.
