The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 22 – 29, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Civil Issue – Gliding Lane: in reference to complainant wanted his wall brackets and several other properties from his residence after being evicted.
Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 E / Hwy 138 E exit Ramp: In reference to an unmarked black vehicle with blue lights having a vehicle stopped. Negative contact. Area check.
Civil Issue – Sorrels Street in reference to complainant’s sister will not bring back her Black 1996 Honda Accord after she allowing the sister to drive the Honda for several months.
Civil Issue – South Broad Street (MPD): in reference to complainant wanted an Officer to follow him to his residence Lakeview Drive to ask his son to leave his residence because he is being aggressive towards him since the son has been there for four days.
Dispute – Sorrels Street: In reference to two females in a verbal dispute. Made contact with a black female who identified herself and stated All ok. Parties that were arguing left before Law Enforcement arrival.
Suspicious vehicle – South Broad Street in reference to a van blocking the roadway. Owner was located and he moved his vehicle.
Suspicious Person – South Broad Street at Walgreens: in reference to two black females and one male loitering and asking customers for money in the parking lot. Negative contact.
Suspicious Person – Belle Meade in reference to a male subject urinating outside. Contact made with workers on location, they were all warned against public urination.
Road Hazard – Birch Street @ Cherry Hill Rd: in reference to trash falling off of white Trash Truck in the roadway.
EMS Assist – High School Ave: in reference to complainant having difficulty breathing.
Domestic Dispute – E Marable St – reference to a report of a Dispute on location. Arriving officers were advised by complainant that a named suspect was actively chasing and attacking subject in the woods behind the residence. Area searched with negative contact. Subjects returned to vehicle. Investigation into circumstances surrounding incident led to the arrest of the named suspect for Battery/Family Violence. Victim advised of Safety remedies.
Loitering – W Spring St – In reference to a group of teenagers on location taking up parking spaces. Subjects told to leave.
Fight – Old Mill Pt – In reference to a group fighting in the street. Both parties involved stories did not match, parties advised to stay from each other.
Suspicious Person – E Church St – In reference to a male panhandler asking customers for money. Subject was criminal trespassed for this location.
Dispute – E Marable St – In reference to roommate having a verbal argument. One person on location and had an active warrant out of Barrow County. He was arrested and turned over to Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
Dispute – E Fambrough St – Complainant stated that his stepson was walking around talking to himself. Subject was gone when officers arrived.
911 Hang up – W Spring St – In reference to a 911 hang up regarding a dispute in the parking lot. Officer arrived just as the group was leaving. Turned over to C.I.D.
911 Hang up – Pine Knoll – 911 hang up. Juveniles called 911 thinking no one would pick up. It was explained to the juveniles that someone will always pick up. all ok.
Suspicious Person – W Highland & W Spring St – subject walking home from hospital. All OK.
Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St – Two vehicles parked in the Quality Foods parking lot after hours. They were sent on their way.
